The Pentagon is thinking expansively about conducting “economic warfare,” particularly against China. Now, it’s mulling a new or expanded deep-cover spying capability as part of that mission.
NEW from me and @wstrobel:

In new podcast, JPMorgan co-president alludes to "getting feedback from the U.S. military ... that the world needed to re-militarize"
"And not only did they need to find creative ways to do that and to finance that, they needed to build weapons and machinery and equipment that reflected the change in the character of war, which would really depend heavily on defense tech and new technologies."
Asked about Jeffrey Epstein, Attorney General Todd Blanche says: "I think he committed suicide."
"The jail down in Manhattan ... the recordings weren’t working. There was staff shortages. So the right people weren’t checking on him. So there was a process failure at the jail that has led to these, that in part has led to the questions around his death."
Attorney General Todd Blanche says there's a "misperception that there's this separation and independence between the Department of Justice and the White House."
"I work for President Trump."

what a surprise: AI hasn't improved FOIA outcomes afaik, but here's an example of it being used for a denial

CIA releases new promo video: "It has been said that the CIA's World War II predecessor, the OSS, described its ideal recruit as, quote, 'A PhD who could win a bar fight.' This sentiment is the essence of what today's CIA must recapture."

First admission I've seen of an agency (DC Dept of General Services) using AI to deny a FOIA. In this case, it was in two pretty clearly AI-written emails wrongly (IMO) denying The Post's clear cut fee status.
And is it worrying that gov employees are using personal AI tools?

Executing the Fort Hood shooter by firing squad is an insane idea — but not for any bleeding-heart reason. It’s traditionally an honorable “soldier’s death,” which is why Nazi leaders and Saddam Hussein requested it, and were denied: kenklippenstein.com/p/hegset…

I accidentally pooped my pants during a meeting today
But it wasn't a crisis—It was an opportunity to lean into vulnerability and practice radical composure during an unexpected operational disruption in the workplace.
These moments remind us that true leadership is about navigating discomfort with grace, maintaining professionalism under pressure, and quickly pivoting to contingency protocols.
With my steady hand at the ship, others in the room were hardly bothered by the foul stench emanating from my pants
Grateful for the chance to strengthen my resilience muscle and model authenticity for the team. #GrowthMindset #WorkplaceResilience #AuthenticLeadership #AlwaysLearning
