🚨 DOG DIED AFTER SUFFERING MULTIPLE SKULL FRACTURES AND BLUNT FORCE INJURIES – OWNER WALKS FREE FROM IMMEDIATE PRISON SENTENCE
Lewis Petherick, 32, of Haverhill, Suffolk, has been handed a suspended prison sentence after his dog Joey died from multiple serious injuries.
Petherick claimed Joey had escaped and been hit by a car. However, veterinary experts ruled out a road traffic collision.
The collie/lurcher cross suffered multiple skull fractures and blunt force injuries to his head, chest and abdomen.
A veterinary report concluded Joey endured hours of fear, distress and pain before dying.
Petherick also admitted neglecting Joey by failing to provide a suitable diet or seek veterinary treatment for his underweight condition.
His own social media posts, in which he described Joey as his "best friend", make the case even more difficult to read.
On 23 October 2026, Cambridge Crown Court sentenced him to:
⚖️ 28 months in prison, suspended for two years
⚖️ 120 hours of unpaid work
⚖️ £1,000 costs
⚖️ Indefinite disqualification from keeping animals.

These three have been jailed for only 20 years combined after a student was raped , filmed and then dumped on a rural road in Worcestershire.
Ajan Purewal , Jaskaran Thandi, and Hassan Jangheer picked her up on Broad Street in Birmingham in September 2023 , drove her out to Vine Lane in Clent and attacked her in the early hours.
Not only that Purewal had hired a car using fake ID specifically to pre plan targeting someone.
He filmed the assault on his phone.
She was left in the middle of nowhere and called the police herself at around 3.30 in the morning .
Purewal only got 8 and a half years .
Thandi only 6 years 3 months.
Jangheer only 6 years.
The detective leading the case called their actions vile and predatory.
Just to think they only got those sentences the victim got a life sentence to what they did that night to her!
