My personal favorite Black Chicago pic is self indulgent. Me and the ladies who shaped me;) In our backyard at 72nd & University in 1968, my aunt, both grandmothers, mom and me. Photo credit Dad;)

Rep. Dingell: Hakeem Jeffries is the man who oversaw one of the largest Democratic majorities we have seen in the House of Representatives in history.
So I'm kind of getting tired of everybody saying, ‘Is he up for it?’ Yes, he just delivered a very significant majority.
I think he's more than up for this job.

I have often wondered who Jennifer Welch is and who she speaks for. She shits on Dems for sport. Toxic podcasters are no better than toxic twitch streamers from California

Congressional Democrats scored their greatest electoral triumph in over 50 years on Tuesday. Here’s why the only logical next step is for all of their leaders to step down.

Leader @HakeemJeffries announces Democrats’ agenda starting on Day One:
—Launch new oversight efforts to crack down on Trump’s corruption
—End Trump’s war of choice in Iran and lower gas prices
—Reverse Trump’s Medicaid cuts
—Reverse Trump’s SNAP cuts
—End the Trump tariffs to lower prices
—Extend the ACA tax credits to lower health care costs

I never saw a leftists orchestrated/bot coordinated insurgent strike against Speaker Mike Johnson's office when he allowed healthcare cuts and DOGE cuts throughout our government that hurt workers.
I wonder why – at Lincolnia, VA

The leftists always have more heat for Hakeem Jeffries than Mike Johnson.

Palki, I want everyone to see what a nasty, vile, ungrateful, traitorous person you really are. This is you begging Barack Obama for help to get AES elected, which he did, and this is how you repay him and Black voters by trying to block Jeffries from becoming Speaker.
🚨‼️ Almost 1 million people have signed the petition to replace Hakeem Jeffries as speaker of the house. We cannot have someone this out of touch with reality and the Democratic base speak for us. Please sign and please call your elected representatives! teapaw.org/PamphletsY/status/2118…
How come these folks ain't protesting Trump? 😇

One thing I need to point out when it comes to House and Senate leadership. They only need the support of their members and it appears Hakeem has it no matter what the online left thinks.

"It's why our caucus is broadly united because we don't want to start this Congress as well, in the same place that Republicans have started their congresses with dysfunction, with chaos." –Rep. Sarah McBride on why she will support Hakeem Jeffries for Speaker of the House.

Love how Brooklyn guys like @errollouis and @mistergeezy cracking heads of those coming for their Schumer and Jeffries.
While the @DemSocialists were attacking mainstream Democrats, @RepJeffries was lining up candidates in red-to-bluedistricts that included ministers, combat veterans, farmers, prosecutors, and other centrists from blue-collar backgrounds.

It’s interesting that 48 hours after an historic election, there’s a bogus campaign against the Democrats.
And so many people are falling for it

I have known Chuck Schumer for 16 years. I worked closely with him and his staff when I worked for Harry Reid. I have a lot of respect for him and have also had my differences over the years.
The job of leader happens mostly behind the scenes. The traits that make a good leader are not the same as what makes you good at social media, etc. Reid was famous for saying off-message stuff—lord knows how he would have fared in the age of social media.
When you’re in the majority, the job is about setting the agenda and passing bills that help people. When you’re in the minority, you’re at the mercy of the majority in terms of the agenda, so the job is mainly to get back in the majority.
By that measure, Schumer succeeded wildly on Tuesday.
He oversaw the biggest Democratic sweep in the Senate since Watergate, recruiting candidates who fit their states and putting them in position to win states many had written off long ago. He was an early believer in Mississippi, for example.
You can litigate this or that decision, and I certainly didn’t agree with them all—but when you step back and look at the big picture there’s simply no way to argue with this historic achievement.
To me, the question of whether Schumer deserves to be reelected as leader after the most dominant performance by Senate Democrats in more than half a century is straightforward, and the answer is clearly yes.

Reality check: Pretty much every member I've talked to says Jeffries will get the gavel.
Rep. Himes: "Jeffries absolutely will be speaker."
"Anybody talking about a challenger is just selling tickets to a circus with no tent," Rep. Liccardo told @axios axios.com/2026/11/06/jeffrie…
NEW: House Dems "inundated" w/ calls & emails urging them not to elect Jeffries speaker
One member told @axios they got "300-400" calls in 2 days
Another said "over 500"
A third said "higher" than 500: "It's our No. 1 issue, and it's not close." axios.com/2026/11/06/jeffrie…

It is absolutely wild that days after massive Black turnout propelled Democrats to a huge victory in the House, mostly white leftists are publicly demanding that Democrats reject the first Black Speaker of the House.
If you wanted a better example of the out-of-touch-ness of the left I’m not sure you could make one up that matches this.
