“I didn’t know what the sacrifice was until I moved over here. I don't have a family to go home to every night, or I can't have my family fly on the weekend to watch my games.”
USMNT midfielder Aidan Morris spoke about the hard part of playing in England.
For Middlesbrough, he’s doing well on the pitch. But off the pitch, he has his struggles.
Morris spoke to Men in Blazers along with Boro’s other Americans like Sebastian Berhalter, Max Arfsten, and Rokas Pukstas.
“I didn’t know what the sacrifice was until I moved over here in terms of being so far away from family,” the 24-year-old said.
“The time zone obviously makes things difficult.
“So I was on this journey by myself and like I tell them all the time, we went through some tough times, you know, feeling alone and feeling so far away from my people.
“But I think it's shaped me into who I am today. So I wouldn't trade it for anything.
“And the football is special, but I think as a person and the human being side of things, I think I've grown a lot because of it.
“And I love this place. I call it one of my homes now. I've met a lot of amazing people here, a lot of amazing teammates.
“So yeah, it's a very special place and I love being here.
“What is the hardest aspect? I don't have a family to go home to every night, or I can't have my family fly on the weekend and watch my games.
“I can’t have friends I went to high school with come and watch a game.
“I think every game on the weekend, I didn't have anybody in the stands. At night, I'm going to call family and it's 11 o'clock my time, and I have to go to bed so I can't really talk for long.
“And just being out of touch with things back home.”
Morris scored on Friday night to help his team beat Bolton.
Middlesbrough currently sit on top of the Championship table, and look like the favorites to earn promotion to the Premier League.

UK crime was four times higher when Oasis first played Knebworth than at last year’s reunion gigs.
The collapse of crime and safer streets is one of the biggest stories of our time.
But one almost never told - or believed.

I like Joseph better coming off the best and playing wide, replacing Conway later in game. Or even giving him a start out wide. He doesn't have the finishing level to replace lankshear. But works his socks off and is a big strong lad

Read this powerful article by @thetimes , and reflect on what has been shared..
This is not just “persecution by (extremely clumsy) process” imposed upon active-duty SAS operators fighting to detain vicious ISIS thugs in an active war zone, but also an example of performative self-immolation initiated by the most senior UK Special Forces officer at the time (G Jenkins) as self-serving exercise in what HE calls ‘transparency’……
So, if someone, anyone (quite possibly an enemy) within an active war zone says the SAS killed an unarmed man, then the so-called ‘senior leaders’ (some, as in this case, with near-zero combat experience) within the Whitehall-based ‘UK system’ desperate to demonstrate something that they call ‘transparency’ (or whatever else floats the MOD’s boat), will automatically launch an aggressive RMP operation to detain the SAS men involved….
Not on the basis of any hard evidence (there is no crime scene, no bodies, no bullets etc), but purely on distant, uncorroborated hearsay and remote, delayed analysis of operational reports; all supported by desk-bound, chinless leaders that seemingly care more about how they will (personally) look in an MOD promotion board than trying to properly understand the circumstances faced by the SAS men and defend them accordingly.
What a gift this utterly pathetic weakness, low threshold investigative process and twisted self-defeating system gives to our many enemies….and what an awful message it sends to those that still volunteer to fight on our all of our behalves….

This is what sports gambling has given us: a player suffers a genuinely scary injury and the sports press is out here saying it needs to be handled in a way to PROTECT GAMBLERS
Genuine scum: The NFL, sports media, the gambling houses enable/encourage this behavior
