I've been in UEFN for over 3 years now, and I feel like the Discover situation is at one of its worst points ever.
- The New tab is completely useless: It’s full of low-quality, low-effort maps, and decent ones often get a 10 minute window in a terrible spot in the row.
- The Sponsored row is extremely expensive: It’s impossible to run profitable campaigns anymore. Top teams with extraordinary budgets have driven the average bid to a point where the row is simply a waste of money.
- Having only categorized rows makes it really hard for new games to break through. We used to have Top Rated, Trending, Most Engaging… which rotated frequently and gave newer maps with good metrics a lot of exposure.
- You CAN’T get followers: I don’t see the point of removing the Creator Profile device. We can’t build a community, and we can’t drive our current or past players to our new experiences. Having followers can make an insane difference when launching a game, and smaller creators are just stuck at a permanent disadvantage.
- Miscategorized maps and Discover exploits: There are so many maps sitting in great spots in rows they don’t belong in. It’s unfair to those who play by the rules, and to add insult to injury, some of these maps are exploiting a bug that allows them to return to those rows after being removed for selecting an incorrect genre.
I don’t have the solution to all of these issues, but there are many things that used to work well and have simply been changed for the worse.
I’ve always been reluctant to come on here and complain about this kind of stuff, but I think we need to speak up if we want something to change.

Here's a breakdown of the time and investment in Break and Steal Eggs, along with the additional investment we had planned before the game was removed from Discover tabs.
- Sponsored row: $5,400
- Asset costs: $1,100
- Total spent: $6,500
- Time invested: 20 days of work (13 updates)
Additional investment planned: $4,000
Throughout this period, we've done live events and boss fights, built an active community, and achieved strong metrics. We were committed to improving this game but discover completely kicked us out with no support.
We also planned a streamer campaign to attract more players to our game and Fortnite. However, after the game was removed from Discover tabs, we decided to stop further investment and time.
We are sharing our experience to show how challenging it has become to gain and maintain exposure in discover, even with consistent updates, investment, strong metrics, and an engaged community. We've concluded that it's more so of a luck based system rather than meeting expected metrics or we're not getting enough data. #UEFN
Releasing a map without having managed to build up followers on your account before they removed the Profiler Device means you either spend 15k on the sponsor row or you’re completely screwed.
And with the sponsor row full of millionaires who don’t care about losing 20k just to be top 1 with a 0.3% CTR, it’s becoming harder and harder to compete.
It’s tough being a mid-sized creator, and practically impossible being a small one.
Not to mention the Discover bugs/exploits that have been around for months.
