A Kohl's in Coconut Creek just sold for more than three and a half times what it fetched in 2008, and the buyer is not a retailer.
Baptist Health South Florida has purchased a Kohl’s department store property in Coconut Creek, Florida, for $53.5 million.
Property Details: Located at 6950 North State Road 7, the building spans 92,726 square feet across an 8.2-acre site. It previously sold in 2008 for $14.75 million.
Store Closure & Leaseback: Kohl’s is leasing back the site through mid-November, with its final day of retail operations scheduled for November 14.
Buyer Expansion: The acquisition aligns with Coral Gables–based Baptist Health’s ongoing northward expansion into Broward County, where it is also developing a hospital in nearby Sunrise slated to open in 2029. Future development plans for the 8.2-acre Coconut Creek parcel have not yet been disclosed.

BREAKING: LeBron James reportedly borrowed $300 million from a pair of Midwestern life insurers arranged by Guggenheim when he signed a $154 million contract with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2018.
The bonds are due in 2049 and were structured to provide immediate cash to James. The bonds are backed by a stream of future revenue tied to his earnings outside basketball.
