I’m no fan of high fees and all our clients pay less than 1.68% in total (which includes comprehensive financial planning not just investment management) but they’re showing a common misunderstanding here. Investors don’t lose more than half their potential profits TO the firms, it’s because they’re not getting a return FROM the market on the fees they’ve previously paid.
