I asked 30 Japanese 12-year-olds one question.
"What do you think of when you hear 'America'?"
(My nephew's teacher let me visit his class. I was not prepared.)
"Hamburgers the size of my head."
"Everything is big. Even the milk."
"Cowboys." Then a boy asked me, "Do cowboys still exist?"
I said yes.
The whole class cheered.
"They went to the moon."
I told them only Americans have ever walked on it.
The room went completely silent. Respect.
"The best baseball in the world. Even Ohtani had to go there."
"Superheroes. They all live in New York."
Then a quiet girl in the back raised her hand.
"My grandma says when the tsunami came, American soldiers came to help her town. She still has a photo with them on her fridge."
Nobody said anything for a while.
Then the teacher asked, "Who wants to go to America someday?"
Every hand went up.
Including the teacher's.
Crazy how there is no physical way to watch the @OfficialPDC European Darts Championship in the US. Their website is broken and won't let me get a subscription to PDC TV, it's not on ESPN, it's not on the Fanduel TV network because it ceased operations in June... This sucks.

I turn 26 today, and I want this to not be about me, but about the blessing of Jesus Christ.
I have been blessed so much with a great job that I enjoy, a beautiful wife, a safe home in a good neighborhood, and a baby girl due to join us in December. Nothing that I have is of my own accord. I owe everything I have to the Lord. He saved me, and saves all who shall believe in Him..
I am wicked to the core. I have sinned and continue to fall to temptation. I don't like it, I'm not proud of it, but it simply is the truth. Without Jesus and His sacrifice, I am nothing. He brings me peace, guidance, wisdom, and beyond all else, He saves us (John 3:16). Through all the highs and the lows, in the times where I didn't believe, He was still by my side, waiting for me to turn to Him. He has lead me from the darkness into the light, and he can do that for you too. He has shown that He can use anyone for good. I have been blessed to have been in positions in the last year where I have been able to share my faith with others, and in these instances the Holy Spirit reached them and they began their own relationship with God. Being used by the Lord for His will is one of the things I am most grateful for.
My prayer today is that as I continue through life, God would use me as a tool for good, helping reach those who need Him most. I am so grateful for all the opportunities I have had over the last year. Whether it be casting CRL LANs or learning that my wife and I are adding a new member to our family, life is a beautiful thing and I thank God for it all.
