With my own doubts about long-term WFH, I am going to pin this tweet, easy to revisit couple of years (or sooner) from now. This is only one of the reasons for my doubts, there’s the human/social aspect as well.
And companies won’t pay for or tolerate the former. Finding & retaining the latter won’t be easy, those side projects have a better chance of maturing now. Soon companies may realize this WFA (anywhere) is not a good idea.

Effective Immediately, all organizations using PHP for their systems are advised to be prepared for an update addressing two critical vulnerabilities. PHP is widely used for web applications. These vulnerabilities often provide a direct path to the server's file system or database. If an immediate update is not feasible, it is recommend that organizations take the system offline until it can be fully mitigated. NSA will follow up shortly with more specific guidance.

Story telling matters. When it comes to design AI can put things together, but it lacks the story, it lacks character.

India is kicking ass
Nearly all major forecasters, including the IMF, ADB and World Bank, have recently raised their growth forecasts for India to above 7% for this year AND next. Remarkable in itself - even more so when viewed against India’s recent performance. (1/n)

Lack of competence in politics is a global crisis. Though I think the landscape will look different in a decade. With AI taking over cognitive jobs, you will see more talent coming back to public service, and policy making.
There is a throwaway line in a WSJ story about the Seattle mayor’s failures about how reps from her admin traveled to SF to learn how Lurie was leading such a successful turnaround and were stunned by how it seemed to be connected to hiring competent people who know what they’re doing.

.@DanielLurie delivers a massive dose of common sense on @CNN: “We got so entrapped in our progressive values...we weren’t taking stock of what was happening on our streets. “We had 810 people die of overdose in SF 3 years ago. There’s nothing progressive about that.”

Australian PM is absolutely right that more people have been given access to energy in India under PM Modi in human history. But that’s a small portion of the truth —More people now have access to water (130m households), sanitation (120m households), bank accounts (590m new bank accounts), credit, more roads (30x high speed freeways), more colleges (3x’ed), more Airports (2x’ed), more ports (2x’ed). The list is much longer, and all this in just a decade. He will go down as the most transformational leader of this century.
NEW: “To give PM Modi credit, more people have been given access to energy in India under his reign that any decade, or any region or any country in all of human history,” says Australia Prime Minister Albanese
