A sadly unsurprising dip in today’s stats. We’ve been building health out of streets & baking pollution in. It’s a road we can’t afford, that takes us to a place we don’t want to live.
We get what we build for, so let’s start building something better.

I don’t normally get involved in calling out headlines but it’s just getting bonkers.
If this was directed at a gender, race or religion it would be rightly called out as the hate speech it is. Mums, dads, sons and daughters being labelled as killers. It’s just got to stop.

If you want a good example of how power works in Britain, just consider how many broadsheet front pages are devoted to the relatively trifling problems of private schools by comparison to the day-to-day and long term problems faced by the state sector (where the vast majority of kids go).

Barely 2 foot wide for walking or pushing a pram, and even that is stolen. I’m utterly sick of it.

Just a statement of fact - I live on The Wirral and last week drove 173 miles almost, motorway free, across Wales (train strike day) to Cardiff to celebrate -10yrs since the Active Travel act came into being.
I drove approximately 1 miles in a 20mph zone.

The beauty of investing in a low carbon, affordable (and healthy) future, is there is no jeopardy - it's already been done on mass across the world, so we have examples-a-plenty to give us confidence that it's the way to go.
'When in 2007 #Ljubljana closed 12 hectares of its city center to private cars, just 40% of residents approved.
A decade later, no less than 97% were against reopening to motor traffic: “None of us can really imagine cars ever staging a comeback”.'

So the £277m needed to build the new @camcitco sewage works is being funded by taxpayers, not @AnglianWater's shareholders, but the company will own the plant & therefore the asset value with the old works sold for development & AW keeping the cash from the sale.
That right?🤔
Can someone remind me where is the money coming from to build this new sewage works and what's happening to the land the current one is sitting on and who benefits from the sale of that land?

Sickening to learn details of Boris Johnson serving up British farming over a lavish dinner with the Australian PM.
He even apologised for joining the EU in the first place. No wonder we hear of hostility in Oxfordshire towards him!
