I think the story is pretty clear:
-- Josh Simmons reported back pain at the end of training camp
-- The team checked it out and didn't find anything worrisome.
-- He kept saying it hurt.
-- He went to more doctors.
-- The determination was that he has a bulging disc (like most football players)
-- The team thought he'd play through it, like most football players.
-- He says he couldn't play through it.
- Some believed him, some didn't.
-- People around the team questioned his sincerity, given the MRIs and his past.
-- The team has kept him off IR because he could say he's good to go whenever, but never does.
-- I assume they pushed him hard to practice after the Bye.
-- He did that weird limp on Wed that looked exaggerated.
-- Something happened between the presser and practice today.
Next: the team will leak some bogus explanation to the reporters about what happened today, and they will all go with it.
