Not sure what changed between Jobs shitting on the idea of a touch screen laptop and now. Unless the hinge folds a full 360-degree and turns it into a tablet with Apple Pencil support, it's still pretty much a pointless feature in my book.
Power On: Apple’s touch-screen MacBook Pro will arrive on Wednesday, marking the tech giant’s latest major reversal. bloomberg.com/news/newslette…
The airport is built to handle a lot more people. The problem is that the counters don't have staff to operate them. Even during peak hours, employees will casually stroll in after existing counters have been overflowing for hours while 50% counters are still vacant.
Mumbai airport is worse every trip. Insanely long lines at immigration counter + at customs. And this is at 2a I the morning!
Not to mention barely enough Ubers and taxis available.
Worth remembering Lee Kuan Yew’s reasoning for why Changi Airport had to become world class. If Singapore was to be a financial hub for the eastern world, this was the first impression people had of the city. Def not the first impression that India’s financial hub wants to be making….
Apple Music is perpetually clueless and behind the curve compared to Spotify. This isn’t even a new thing and yet no one at AM has heard of this sub genre.
Before making a time sensitive payment with UPI, check your account balance within the app. If there is some ongoing issue with the bank, the balance retrieval system will also not work, so you know not to make the payment for a while.
Today, I booked a cab, and the fare was ₹1,400.
When I reached my destination, I paid through Google Pay. The money was deducted from my bank account, but the transaction got stuck on Processing.
I told the driver, please wait, the payment is still processing and will reach you. But he refused, saying he couldn’t trust anyone.
Since I was getting late, I had to pay another ₹1,400.
Now, if the first payment also reaches his account, I’ll have paid ₹2,800 for a ₹1,400 ride. And what if he refuses to return my money? I don’t even know how I’ll find him.
Banks and UPI services need to fix this. Customers shouldn’t have to pay twice because a transaction is stuck in processing.
Have you ever faced this situation? If the first payment reaches him later, how am I supposed to recover my ₹1,400?
No brand is going back to pre AI datacenter pricing. They are all in on it. Even if their profit margins are small right now (which they aren't), they will tough it out for a couple of years because it's all massive profit city afterwards.
Wish people were normal about their new Apple product reviews instead of turning it into some kind of performance art. It's a product review, not vaudeville.
Windows genuinely has to be the stupidest fucking operating system in the world because what the fuck do you mean that if I update my BIOS it will deactivate the license and ask to purchase the OS again
taking foreign dignitaries to either gateway of india or the taj mahal as a tacit admission that to this day the only things worth showing here were built by colonizers and invaders
are indians the only ones who look outside and see that the air looks like sweet corn chicken soup and continue lighting things on fire or do other people also do this

Our government prepared for it by allocating land for data centres, diverting food crops to produce ethanol, and polluting existing rivers in the name of rituals and festivals.
