In 2011, three engineers — David Schwartz, Jed McCaleb, and Arthur Britto — set out to build a better Bitcoin. They built the XRP Ledger.

Today is Election Day, Massachusetts! I’m asking for your vote for U.S. Senate.
I’m ready to fight for lower costs, put people over politics, and make Washington work for you.
Make your voice heard, bring a friend, and get out and vote. It would be an honor to earn your support.

This is significant for Hedera.
Being one of eight participants on the CFTC inaugural Super Intelligence panel puts Hedera firmly in discussions regarding the future of U.S. financial markets. The next step is translating the opportunity into measurable adoption. hedera-hashgraph:native
Hedera, the U.S. CFTC, and the Inaugural Frontier Forum on Super Intelligence.
Hedera was among eight participants on the opening panel of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission's inaugural Frontier Forum on Super Intelligence, examining AI-driven financial markets, autonomous trading, cybersecurity, and regulatory oversight.
The October 28 forum brought together representatives from Hedera, Tempo, Architect, OneChronos, the Investment Company Institute, and other financial technology organizations.
CFTC Chairman Michael S. Selig (@MichaelSelig) raised a fundamental regulatory question:
"Who's liable if the agent goes rogue?"
He also raised the possibility of "Know Your Agent" (KYA) requirements as regulators consider how to identify and oversee autonomous financial systems.
Three key takeaways from Hedera's participation:
1. Financial market integrity
Hedera Chief Policy Officer Nilmini Rubin (@nilminirubin) outlined how distributed ledger infrastructure could support:
• Fair transaction ordering and verifiable records
• Real-time regulatory oversight
• Cryptographically enforced approval mechanisms
"We don't need to necessarily trust the super intelligence. We just need infrastructure underlying it that makes trust unnecessary."
2. Autonomous AI transaction controls
"With Hedera, you can have an agent where you set the rules, the spend, the authorization limits."
Rubin described how Hedera could support programmable spending limits, transaction authorization, and restrictions on which services or merchants autonomous agents can access.
These capabilities address emerging challenges around accountability, security, and financial-market oversight.
3. Tokenization and autonomous asset transfers
Rubin reported growing tokenization activity across Hedera's ecosystem and progress in enabling autonomous agents to transfer tokens.
Why it matters
The CFTC is examining how U.S. financial markets may evolve as autonomous AI agents increasingly participate in trading, payments, and financial services.
Hedera's participation placed its infrastructure capabilities directly within discussions about the security, accountability, and regulatory safeguards these markets may require.
While the forum did not constitute a regulatory endorsement or adoption announcement, it provided Hedera with a platform to demonstrate its technology's potential relevance to the future of autonomous finance.

What's the difference between XRP and stablecoins like RLUSD?
RLUSD is optional. XRP isn't.
RLUSD is a dollar-backed token issued by Ripple. As the issuer, Ripple has to follow US law and can freeze RLUSD. XRP has no issuer and no jurisdiction, and nobody can freeze it. It's a commodity.
XRP also has a privileged role on the XRP Ledger. Every account can hold it by default, and everyone has to use it: accounts need an XRP reserve, and every transaction fee is paid in XRP. RLUSD you have to opt into it (TRUST-line).
On top of that, the DEX automatically checks whether bridging through XRP gives a better rate on a cross-currency swap (e.g. USD → EUR). No other asset gets that by default.
Another important difference: XRP is volatile. Like any commodity, it isn't backed by anything, so its price is whatever the market says it is. That volatility is exactly what attracts traders and investors. RLUSD is the opposite: 1 RLUSD = 1 USD.
Just from this we can already see that different use cases gravitate towards each asset.
Whenever you need stable value for payroll, invoices etc, don't hold a volatile asset like XRP. Price swings shouldn't decide whether you can fund your operations. Stablecoins for any national currency fit here, and RLUSD is one of many even among the dollar stablecoins.
Whenever you need a neutral asset that nobody controls, not even a government, and you want to reduce your counterparty risk, XRP is the only choice on the XRP Ledger. There is no alternative.
Turns out these properties also make XRP very attractive to market makers bridging pools of liquidity. They only have to worry about XRP's price, not whether the issuer of some token runs into trouble.
The more successful the XRP Ledger becomes, the more accepted XRP becomes and to make it successful we leverage our strengths and the things we are good at. This includes the activity of stablecoins and other assets.
What happens after Swell stays after Swell.

What an absolute pleasure hanging out with @krippenreiter!
Such a fun, upbeat guy with an infectious energy and a genuine passion for this space! Great conversations, plenty of laughs, and the kind of enthusiasm that makes being part of this community so much fun. Looking forward to doing it again!
Replying to @Cointelegraph
She meant RLUSD. Ripple can only freeze their own issued asset which is RLUSD (a stablecoin).
Its not XRP and neither can Ripple or anyone freeze it. Exactly the same properties as ETH or Bitcoin.

I met so many incredible people today! 🥳
The community meet and greet was my absolute highlight. 🔥
The one thing that stood out to me the most was how down-to-earth and approachable everyone from Ripple always was.
Especially @bgarlinghouse and @MonicaLongSF ❤️
Many people asked me about some alpha and "The word on the streets"...
It can really be summarized as "2027 will be the year where things will finally move on chain in small but meaningful amounts".
Heard this not only from @Ripple but everyone building on the XRPL and using @XRP.
Earning yield on RLUSD and XRP, tokenizing real world assets and settling on XRPL will become the norm.
It can't get anymore exciting than this!! 🔥🔥

YOU AREN'T READY FOR WHAT'S POTENTIALLY ABOUT TO HAPPEN
$XRP

Big news heading into @RippleSwell: the @USOCC has granted final approval for Ripple National Trust Bank.
This gives Ripple a federally supervised platform to support $RLUSD and provide digital asset custody to enterprises.
We’ve always said crypto and banks work better together — this is what that looks like. Real innovation, real accountability, federal oversight.
The revolution isn't happening outside the system. It's happening from within it.
Big news as Aviva Investors announces the launch of a tokenized share class of the Aviva Investors Sterling (GBP) Liquidity Fund on the XRP Ledger.
The Sterling (GBP) Liquidity Fund is Aviva Investors’ largest fund at around £22 billion in assets under management, and this move marks an expansion of Aviva Investors’ tokenised fund offering, following the launch of its tokenized USD Liquidity Fund in July.
Investors receive the same protections as those in the conventional fund, which was initially launched in 2002.
Markets are moving to 24/7 access and real-time settlement. This is what that looks like in practice.
For professional investors only. Capital at risk.

For example, even if you imagine a world where nearly all settlement is done using bitcoin, if XRPL is successful, you will still probably have several versions of wrapped/bridged bitcoin on XRPL and XRP will capture value bridging them.
