Unless people don't know... FATE'S in FFXIV sync you down. They sync both your level AND your gear down. So having Bis is POINTLESS for FATES cause your ilvl 790 gear is getting synced down. Materia's don't get added to synced-down gear. So having bis does not speed up FATES.

You're still missing the point about difficulty. Gear shouldn't be locked behind hardcore content. Raiders can get exclusive cosmetics instead. Why shouldn't I want BiS for FATEs? Simple: to make doing them less of a struggle.
