A big promise of ai is to do tedious work so you can do more of what you enjoy. Gen ai doesn't do that. Oh, they can guide the model. No artist cares about that shit. They wanna do what they enjoy ie making art. You just dont get it.
samantha is an audiobook narrator so i can see why she’d be panicking a bit. it’s pretty clear that society is no longer going to pay humans to sit down and record 20 hours of narration per book
i actually think there’s opportunity though, we may not need human narrators to vocalize the words anymore, but if they’re good at their job and know what makes an audiobook enjoyable they can probably create a lot of value guiding the models to do it right and helping adjust where it matters
