Just as the “terrorist” label today is stretched far beyond its stated meaning, sometimes even over children, Cicero used “Itureans” in 43 BCE as a rhetorical weapon.
Not ethnography. Invective.
The Iturean became shorthand for foreign violence, barbarism, and the collapse of Roman civic order.
Same imperial reflex. Different vocabulary.

If you read Satloff’s statement, you wouldn’t know that American voters have strongly repudiated U.S. foreign policy, its wars, and its unflinching support for the disgusting behavior in Gaza, the West Bank, and Lebanon. But here we are, with Israel-firsters still talking as though nothing happened.
As an official statement of the #LebaneseArmedForces, this is a stunning declaration.
Reading this, one would never know that #Lebanon and #Israel are bound by a signed “framework agreement” that conditions progressive Israeli withdrawal from Lebanese territory on Lebanon’s progressive disarmament and dismantlement of non-state armed actors – i.e., #Hezbollah. That task does not even appear on the list of #LAF responsibilities or priorities.
And one wonders why the implementation of the “framework agreement” appears stuck in neutral.
Satloff’s selective reading is as dishonest as it is contemptible.
Paragraph 12 of the November 2024 agreement calls for Israeli withdrawal and Lebanese Army deployment in parallel, not indefinite Israeli occupation until Lebanon satisfies every Israeli demand.
Lebanon’s defense policy is determined by its government, not its Army Commander. And the Army Chief explicitly reaffirmed his commitment to implementing the decisions of the political authorities and extending state authority throughout Lebanon.
Satloff conveniently ignores all of that.
What I find particularly repugnant is the arrogance of these Israel-first propagandists, who lecture Lebanon about its obligations while treating Israel’s violations as an afterthought.
They demand accountability from the Lebanese Army while apparently reserving impunity for the Israeli military.
The contempt for Lebanese sovereignty is unmistakable.

Israel didn’t even allow them to remove their belongings. The soldiers showed up first thing this morning, threw stun grenades into the apartments and made everyone leave. Then they brought in their bulldozers and demolished everything.
The “reason”? Improper building permits.
The real reason: because they can.
This is what American politicians support. This is what American taxpayers are forced to pay for.
Evil is the only appropriate word.

BREAKING: Israeli settler terrorists are setting fire to and destroying hundreds of olive trees in the village of Burqa in the west bank right now.
Land and property theft. Paid for by US tax dollars.
These videos are insane. Israeli settler thieves are giggling with joy and experiencing verbal orgasms after having acquired a Palestinian property in Jericho, in the occupied West Bank.
Their dream is to create a Palestine with 0 Palestinians in it just like Hitler's dream was to create a Deutschland with 0 Jews in it.
Jewish Nazism is enjoying more support & popularity today than at any point in the whole history of Jewish Nazism.
What “Israel” wants from Lebanon is Lebanon, its territory, its resources, its subjugation, & the ability to dictate the terms of its existence. When pseudo-journalists ask nobodies like Nawaf Salam or Joseph Aoun whether they have obtained “guarantees” that “Israel” will not wage war on Lebanon, they are asking a question that is, apart from being extremely stupid, fundamentally disconnected from the nature of the problem. First, neither of these men, nor anyone else for that matter, is in a position to secure or credibly offer such guarantees. More fundamentally, the question presupposes that the threat can be neutralised through assurances, as though we were dealing with a dispute between parties whose intentions could be reconciled through diplomacy. What guarantees, exactly, could possibly satisfy an expansionist project whose ambitions & fixation with domination extend beyond Lebanon’s borders? What assurance could contain an appetite for regional hegemony, or make a project of subjugation relinquish the very conditions that sustain it?
😂😂😂
Well it is true. The war was a neocon wet dream since 2009.

When people talk about the “deep state,” they rarely name names. As though it were some mysterious, immovable force operating in the shadows.
But the deep state is made up of individuals, often with their own agendas, financial interests, and networks of influence. People like Stephen Feinberg.
I’ve been reading about Feinberg, and the more I learn, the less convinced I am that replacing Pete Hegseth would make much difference.
Feinberg is the billionaire co-founder of Cerberus Capital Management, a private equity giant. Sounds innocuous enough.
Except that Feinberg is now the Deputy Secretary of Defense, effectively the Pentagon’s chief operating officer, overseeing day-to-day operations, managing enormous budgets, and executing strategic priorities.
His responsibilities extend to some of the Pentagon’s most expensive programs, including Golden Dome, the proposed American missile defense system inspired in part by Israel’s Iron Dome. He has also expanded his authority into military procurement, shipbuilding, and the defense industrial supply chain.
Consider his background.
Wall Street: Cerberus made disastrous bets on Chrysler and GMAC before the 2008 financial crisis, with both requiring government intervention. The firm’s private equity playbook is now influencing how the Pentagon manages its investments and contractors.
Israel: In 2005, Cerberus led a consortium that won a bid for a controlling stake in Bank Leumi, one of Israel’s largest financial institutions, offering a substantial premium in the privatization process.
Intelligence: Feinberg’s connections to the intelligence establishment are not speculative. Jared Kushner and Steve Bannon reportedly pushed for him to receive a senior intelligence appointment in 2017. From 2018 to 2021, he chaired the President’s Intelligence Advisory Board, giving him direct access to the highest levels of America’s intelligence apparatus.
Political influence: Feinberg is a low-profile Republican megadonor with longstanding ties to Trump and millions in political contributions.
Defense industry: Cerberus has extensive investments in defense contractors and military technology. Former Cerberus executives have followed Feinberg into influential Pentagon positions. Senator Elizabeth Warren has raised concerns about potential conflicts of interest involving Feinberg, his former firm, and the Golden Dome program.
We are talking about a billionaire private equity investor with deep connections to Wall Street, the intelligence community, the defense industry, and the Trump administration, now exercising extraordinary influence over the Pentagon’s trillion-dollar machinery.
And unlike Hegseth, Feinberg rarely makes headlines.
This is why I don’t believe replacing Hegseth would fundamentally change anything.
The public focuses on the personalities at the top, while the people controlling budgets, contracts, investments, and procurement operate largely outside public scrutiny.

🇺🇸 🇮🇱 Danny @Citrinowicz responding to @gadi_eisenkot: “You cannot continue supporting permanent occupation, settlement expansion, endless wars, and the political exclusion of Arab citizens while expecting American public opinion to move in your favor.
Israel does not need a better salesman in Washington. It needs a different policy in Jerusalem.”
Ten Commitments That Could Truly Transform Israel’s Relationship with America
Excellent tweet, But if you genuinely want to repair Israel’s standing in the United States, What Israel needs is not a better public relations campaign. It needs a fundamental change in policy.
Here are ten commitments I would encourage you to make publicly that will really make a change in DC:
A. Israel cannot and should not permanently occupy another people. The occupation is not a sustainable national strategy. It undermines Israel’s democratic character, its international legitimacy, and ultimately its own security.
B. I extend my hand in peace to the Palestinian people. I recognize their right to self-determination and am prepared to engage in serious negotiations toward a political settlement that guarantees security, dignity, and a better future for both peoples.
C. I will not pressure the Trump administration into launching another costly and ultimately unsuccessful military campaign against Iran. After two rounds of fighting that failed to achieve their central strategic objectives, it is time to rethink our approach. Preventing a nuclear-armed Iran must remain a priority, but another war without a realistic political endgame is not a strategy.
D. Arab citizens of Israel are equal citizens, with equal rights and an equal stake in the country's future. I will not hesitate to work with their elected representatives in the Knesset, and I am prepared to consider including Arab parties in a governing coalition if we can agree on a common political agenda.
E. My vision is an Israel defined by prosperity, security, and peace, not endless territorial expansion and permanent conflict. Israel will not permanently occupy Gaza or annex the West Bank. I will work closely with President Trump to fully implement his peace plan in a manner that benefits Israelis, Palestinians, and the broader international community.
F. Israel has no ambition to determine who governs Lebanon or to occupy Lebanese territory. Once Israel's legitimate security requirements are met, we will withdraw to an internationally recognized, secure border and work toward a sustainable security arrangement.
G. The same principle applies to Syria. Israel has no territorial ambitions in Syria and no desire to dictate who governs Damascus. Our objective is a secure border, enforceable security arrangements, and long-term regional stability.
H. I will make rebuilding Israel's relationships with Egypt and Jordan a strategic priority. These peace treaties are among Israel's greatest diplomatic achievements. Let me be absolutely clear: neither Jordan nor Egypt is an alternative homeland for the Palestinian people. Israel will not support forced displacement or policies designed to transfer Palestinians into either country.
I. Israel should aspire to a relationship with the United States that is increasingly based on mutual investment, innovation, and shared strategic interests rather than dependence on American taxpayer assistance. I will propose a joint US-Israel investment fund to advance major initiatives in artificial intelligence, advanced technology, energy, and scientific research, generating tangible benefits for both societies.
J. I will deliver precisely the same message to European leaders. Israel wants to rebuild trust with its European partners through responsible policies, respect for international law, renewed diplomatic engagement, and a genuine commitment to peace.
+
Israel will fight terrorism in all its forms, without exception or double standards, including Jewish terrorism and violence against innocent Palestinians. Terrorism is terrorism, regardless of who commits it. No individual or group will be above the law, and those responsible will be held accountable. The rule of law must apply equally to everyone..
The bottom line:
If you want to restore bipartisan support for Israel in Washington, rebuild trust with younger Americans, and reverse Israel's deteriorating international standing, you must first confront the policies that helped create this crisis.
The problem is not that Israeli politicians are failing to explain themselves effectively in English. The problem is what they are defending.
You cannot continue supporting permanent occupation, settlement expansion, endless wars, and the political exclusion of Arab citizens while expecting American public opinion to move in your favor.
Israel does not need a better salesman in Washington. It needs a different policy in Jerusalem.

Democrats will win big tonight then give their own voters the middle finger by appointing Hakeem Jeffries as Speaker and Chuck Schumer as Leader, and nothing will fundamentally change. This is how the duopoly works, which is why we need to topple the system.
