Most interesting thing about The Great Pumpkin is Snoopy's Flying Ace. (BTW; there's more time between us and Pumpkin, than it and WWI!) Long line of comic strip characters with imaginative lives (Nemo, Dickie Dare, Calvin); when he became a superdog, he was less interesting.
