keep thinking how the Florida amendment to protect abortion rights passed by 57.1 percent but voter suppression tactics required it to get to 60 percent. it's not just gerrymandering, ID checks--it's a whole slew of tactics.

Called my dying mother this AM because she could talk over the phone today unlike last week when she was hospitalized and she said: "We've got to keep fighting. We've got to keep praying. I'm scared but I'm not dead yet." Amen

Labor + the left have had so many losses since '68. That has consequences. For 50+ yrs the right has won and consolidated power. Ofc things wont suddenly turn our way. Its gonna take much sharper strategy, unity, and resources. There's no evidence we've built that yet on the left

Rural America is more than white, conservative, or Republican. It also consists of Black folks who have power. Black rural voters have consistently voted for the Democratic Party at rates of 90% or more. Why is their influence often invisible? NEW: capitalbnews.org/rural-black…

The Black Panther Party was founded on this day in 1966 by Bobby Seale and Huey P. Newton. Pictured here is co-founder of the party Huey P. Newton, with Palestinian resistance fighters outside a refugee camp in Lebanon in 1980. Black & Palestinian liberation is intertwined.

I went to a women’s baseball game while my baby went to a quilting event. I love our queer love.

Someone run on a platform of making the DMV easier and registering to vote. It was a breeze in TN. Meanwhile in NC they won’t take my social security card bc it’s laminated and they didn’t take my proof of residence from the utility itself.

Printed*. Mind you she was about to take my social if I said it verbally but when I said I have a laminated card it was game over. I said sorry my dying mother laminated it.

Just genuinely surprised this was easier to do in TN.

Embracing saying “I don’t know” as a way to welcome more collective action and also to continue to embody constant learning/unlearning. I do wish others would just admit when they don’t know how to do something. But also be willing to be stretched.
