This morning, MarketWatch featured our data at @ThisFirst revealing that women now represent 50% of our prenup clients in opposite-sex marriages, completely flipping decades of tradition where men held the financial power and drove these conversations. As I shared with MarketWatch: “It’s a massive generational shift.” While Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s engagement sparked this week’s surge in prenup chatter (and some of the funniest memes of 2025 so far), the real story is about Millennial women, economic empowerment, and a more practical approach to marriage. If you get married but don't have a prenup, what about a vesting schedule? 5 years, no cliff? Sounds great

Great highlight of @rita_health and @kama_milly in @a16z 's AI x parenting market map 🚀
🚨 New @a16z investment thesis: AI x parenting Raising kids is one of our most challenging and important jobs. Every parent needs support sometimes - but many can't access it because it's too inexpensive or inaccessible. AI changes this. What we're seeing 👇

So proud of @libbylh and the team at @ThisFirst! They are changing the game for prenups, which are very unfun but very essential. If marriage is in your future, check them out. As @libbylh says, they are non-negotiable! fortune.com/2024/10/24/shery…

Scary good. I remember the 100,000 user party in the basement of a steak house, then the 1M user party. I remember my friends sleeping at the office (proudly) and moving to be near the office so they could walk. This man, and the people who rally behind him are driven and he’s still young and has so much more in him. The dent he will leave will be immense in his lifetime and causes that he and Priscilla support will flourish for all this work. You can critique Facebook, but not one of us knows how hard and how difficult it was to build, to maintain and to govern. Almost a seemingly impossible task if you ponder it all.
I wonder if people remember the lore behind this tee (wrt Facebook specifically). Doing your 40th looking chill while wearing that is cold-blooded. Mark Zuckerberg is still the scariest CEO in Big Tech.

If startups are intriguing to you, do not let your career slip by without ever working for one. Big companies have lots to offer, but not the meaningful epic legendary journey that a startup can be. It's not for everyone -- but if you feel the pull, act on it.

A few obvious things highly correlated with extraordinary younger entrepreneurs: - made friends on the internet - not above any suck work - tries to learn from the very best - goes all the way down the rabbit hole - interested in business, not just tech (often had a hustle)

Founders swim out holding on to logs. Eventually they get kayaks. Rowboats. Sailboats. By the time an employee gets on a cruiseship, they think their choices are steak or shrimp. But their choices are still cruise ship, or holding on to a log. The early crew never forgets that. – at San Francisco, CA

Unordered and incomplete list of qualities I regularly see in exceptional teammates: - knows the details - sweats the details - brings structure to ambiguity - responsiveness - availability - quick study (content) - quick study (methods) - directors, not consensus builders - visible (async or sync) every day - can reference the archives - low drama (bad stuff) - low drama (good stuff) - right, a lot, and usually quickly - resilient in the face of feedback - self manages health, energy, emotions - not above the grind - paranoid about the right things - could flex into 1-2 adjacent roles - mostly ignores hierarchy - but manages up well - self sufficient (can solo quest) - internally well networked - wicked fast
