This is the reason Dr Bosun Tijani blocked me.
I quoted his NUCAP post with my experience as a project coordinator on similar MTN/Huawei rural sites in the past, and asked what would be different this time. He blocked me instead of replying.
If a sitting minister under President Tinubu can’t take constructive criticism from a young Nigerian, tell me if this country is getting better anytime soon.
This is not a new project. As far back as 2015, MTN and Huawei already had something similar called MTN Rural Telephony, and that was before bandits became this widespread.
I was a project coordinator on some of those sites. The biggest setback was always security in these remote areas. Almost all the backup batteries were stolen. Technicians were often 12–24 hours away, and many sites weren’t accessible by road.
Some towers stayed down for days or even months because of community issues. There were cases where security guards were killed when robbers came for the equipment.
These projects are extremely expensive to maintain. That’s why I’m not sure why the government is taking on the role of running them directly. Private operators already struggled with exactly these problems.

Zoom into that picture first, that money in there is not my money, the account too is definitely not mine but somehow i can see a certain man’s account balance just because i purchased an Mtn SIM card.
I purchased a new sim card last week Wednesday from the mtn’s shop, did the entire registration until it was time to open up a WhatsApp business account.
I tried opening up a WhatsApp account and WhatsApp told me that the new number is already in use, a new number i just got is already in use, how exactly is that even possible?
Since when did Mtn start recycling peoples active numbers, i texted the number on WhatsApp and the original owner of the number replied me, i tried explaining what has just happened to me but he blocked me.
I woke up this morning to these bank transactions from his end on my phone and he doesn’t even know that.
To think that this might even be his active bvn number.
I dont even know anymore..

David Hundeyin has troubling psychological issues.
As an atheist who believes there’s nothing more to this world than this world, his only source of meaning is being right as a journalist.
This existential condition drove him to excel at his craft as he broke news that shook our entire nation and its powers.
But this same reality is also his biggest undoing. The moment he stops being right, it wouldn’t just be missing facts to him.
It would be shattering his whole point of existence. It would be existentially apocalyptic to him.
Because where does he now get meaning from? What is the point of his life?
As far as public knowledge goes, he has no wife or children. He is a fugitive from his own country.
So, he has no primary family he feels responsible for. He hates his nation. The rest of us only hate its leadership but we don’t reject it.
David has hinted at genocide as a solution for many Nigerians who think differently from him.
I am saying this man is swinging on a pendulum across a vast space of nothingness and a void of nihilism.
That single thread that held him was him being right about things.
Now that thread has been cut.
His whole world is crumbling on him and that is why he is clutching desperately to make this false narrative about the insecurity of Nigeria true.
Now he is affirming that Rev’d Ezekiel Dachomo, that man who has buried more people than David has written articles this year, is an accomplice in the insecurity going on in the nation.
That is plain madness.
But that is precisely the sort you would expect from a man running and hiding from the consuming void of nothingness that is rapidly chasing him and engulfing his whole existence.
It is tragic. It is sad.
