I'm excited to share the early access release of my upcoming book, Regenerative Software, which will be released in full early next year by O'Reilly, one of my all time favorite tech publishers! As a self-taught developer, I learned a lot of what was foundational to my career from early O'Reilly books on UNIX, Perl, sed, awk, etc. Thrilled to finally have one of these animal covers with my name on it. Jev by @typesafeai is now on the Venice API, in beta.
It answers, it doesn't write. Send it your app's state and typed questions. Get back a typed answer your code can branch on: a probability, a chosen option, or a score on your rubric. No JSON to coax out of a chat model.

Venice is going vertical. We're standing up B300 GPU clusters in our own data centers and we need a Venetian who lives at the intersection of CUDA kernels, quantization math, and production inference at scale.
If you've squeezed @vllm_project or @sgl_project past their limits, profiled with Nsight, shipped tensor-parallel multi-node configs, and want to do it all in service of privacy-first AI infrastructure for millions of users, this is your call.
Come build the Port City of AI with us.

To summarize: HuggingFace got autonomously compromised by a model from an American company. HF then tried to use American frontier model(s) to defend themselves, but were blocked by guardrails. HF then had to turn to open source Chinese models to defend themselves from another American company.
We're partnering with @huggingface to investigate an unprecedented security incident.
Cyber-capable OpenAI models compromised Hugging Face production during a benchmark evaluation.
Sharing preliminary findings to help defenders understand emerging risks:

Today, @askvenice announced a $65M Series A at a $1B valuation.
We started this company in 2024 with a simple conviction: people deserve an AI platform that doesn't spy on them or decide what they're allowed to think.
Our job was to build a private, unrestricted AI platform that could find product-market fit without compromising on principles.
