What I eventually learned is that the prompt is only half the controls. The other half is that set of 𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀, firing the moment the model picks its next token.
So I wrote the field guide I wish I’d had: one simple mental model, every parameter explained without the folklore, and a copy-paste cheat sheet of settings per task.
The pattern I keep seeing at LayerX is teams reaching for a bigger model or a fine-tune to fix what were really sampling problems.
It’s the cheapest lever in the stack, and almost everyone skips it.

You shipped a prototype. Then you tweeted a screenshot. Then you ran.
We've been shipping with AI agents every single day for the last year at @LayerXlab . They write roughly 80% of the code we put into production. I'm not the guy telling you AI is overhyped.
But the "one prompt rebuilt years of work" crowd is selling you a magic trick.
𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘀𝗮𝘄? It's the cheap 80%. Edge cases, security, concurrency, performance budgets, the decisions made after real incidents at 3am , one of that is in your 4-hour build. And no, your test that "checks the happy path" doesn't count.
𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲'𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗻𝗼𝗯𝗼𝗱𝘆 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗱𝗺𝗶𝘁:
- Without a design, the agent will invent one for you. That's not a feature.
- A prototype is a promise, not a product.
- Every model release rewrites your assistant's personality. Treat it like a new hire.
- The agent amplifies the engineer you already are. If you're sloppy, you're now sloppy at machine speed.
- Engineering process review, conventions, CI discipline is the moat now. Not your prompt library.

It didn't start as a roadmap item. I was trying the @claudeai Design capabilities on a quiet afternoon, sketching what a clean multi-exchange pricing grid could look like. The result was surprisingly sharp. Clear hierarchy, readable at a glance, the kind of thing you'd actually bookmark.
@luziadev already has the hard parts solved: persistent WebSocket connections to Binance, Coinbase, Kraken, Bybit, and OKX, a real-time bridge to the pricing data. The experiment just needed some extra effort.
So i wired the design into the existing infra, added per-pair routes with SEO, server-rendered the initial state for fast loads, and shipped.
Two takeaways worth sharing:
📝 𝗔𝗜-𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 is genuinely useful when you treat it as a starting point, not a final answer.
e 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗿𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀. A side experiment became a product feature in a single sprint because the pipes were already there.
