3D printed differential robot arm wrist. [👇 GitHub Link - Open Source ] High demand, so they open sourced it early. A differential mechanism released as a test fixture for future robots. Built around their Spectral micro BLDC driver. Parts, STL files, example code are already out there. Good example of sharing engineering before it is polished. We're focusing on the wrong thing: the 98% accuracy = 2% error rate. 2% error rate means your robot is fired from its job. I find the argument about humanoid vs. arms idiotic: fundamentally, both robots are bimanual arms with an end effector. A humanoid wraps it with hype and costs maybe 2x more. @Figure_robot could easily trot out a table-mounted bimanual robot. I also find the speed issue to be marketing spin. This seems to be correlated with conveyor belt speed and layout/SOP. Also: soft packages vs. boxes, completely different apples/oranges comparison. We need to focus on the right things as an industry. Choose the wrong metrics with meme competitions = all we get are meme robots. (Don't get me wrong, meme robots are great for marketing. There's a reason why we built @asimovinc as a humanoid)
X Square just beat Figure’s package-sorting pace by ~45%—without a humanoid. In a 1-hour autonomous livestream, two WALL-B-powered 6-axis arms handled 1,816 mixed parcels at 98%+ accuracy. Figure’s 200-hour humanoid run averaged 1,248/hour. That’s 1.98 seconds per parcel vs. 2.88 seconds for Figure. Nearly a full second faster on every package. China processed nearly 199B express parcels in 2025. At that scale, every fraction of a second adds up. Figure is betting on the general-purpose humanoid: one body, eventually many jobs. X Square builds humanoids too, but went pragmatic here—pairing WALL-B with purpose-built arms and grippers for a faster, simpler, more economical logistics system. RobotEra made a similar choice. Its M7 at China Post skips the legs too, using an upper-body humanoid at the sorting line. This is one big difference I keep seeing between U.S. and Chinese robotics: U.S. teams like Figure are making a massive bet on the universal humanoid. Chinese teams are often more willing to change the body if it makes the economics work today. Back in June, I called logistics sorting the right first job for humanoids. X Square is making me rethink the “humanoid” part. If the job doesn’t need legs—or five fingers—why pay for them?

GPT 4o Image is so far ahead. It actually seems to understand what's in the image. Check this prompt result, compared to competitors (see thread): "Create image a cad style version of this cooking robot in the attached image". Result and prompted image attached.

Curry and rice look pretty realistic, but hilarious that it looks like what a 3d-rendered curry would look like, much like the unit is 3d rendered.

Founders often ask me privately if they should crowdfund. My thoughts: Background: I’ve raised $8M from reg CF, 4K+ investors, advised many others. Also lots of VC. My rule = do whatever is easiest *for you*. Already know VCs? Start there. CF can work! But also lots of work.🧵
🤔 Asking for a founder: is it advisable to crowdfund for my pre-seed startup - yay or nay, and why?

So excited to share that a project I've been working on is fundraising a community round! That means anyone, not just accredited investors can take part! wefunder.com/souschefstudio It's a dream to work on this project, at the intersection of food & robotics.
