Your peace is non-negotiable. 🛡️
You don’t owe an answer to every critic, every comment, or every bit of drama. Protect your energy like your life depends on it—because your mental health does.

Your mindset shapes what you focus on, what you pursue, and how you show up.

What did you do with your first salary?
If you are like most people, you probably had a long list of things to buy.
New clothes.
A better phone.
A nice dinner.
New apartment.
New car.
Maybe you even treated your friends.
Nothing wrong with that.
But there is one thing many people don't do early enough:
Start investing.
The earlier you learn how to save, invest and build wealth, the more time your money has to grow.
You don't need to be rich to start.
You need to understand what to do with what you have.
The Abojani Investment Masterclass helps you build that foundation.

NEVER disrespect the hustle of anyone. There is this couple that I met on a business network organised by @NCBABankKenya who shared their story & how they have 10 outlets just focusing on groceries across key satellite towns in Nairobi.
They were both employed by a bank, & the wife was let go during COVID-19. The husband continued working. He took a small loan & opened a small grocery shop for the wife in Kahawa West. Fast forward a year later, the wife was bring in more money than the husband. Ten times what the husband was earning.
The husband quit his job and joined the wife in selling Sukuma wiki & other groceries. Now they are proud owners of their home. They have a pickup that does deliveries, supported by 10 motorbikes.
They are both graduates of economics.
They shared more. The drama they have gone through, auction threats, Kanjo, managing employees, cash flow challenges & the element of toxic debt. When they signed up with NCBA, they were able to get not only capital, but expert advice on how they can run their business.
My take home was that, they started small. My biggest inhibitor has always been the desire to start big & leave a mark instead of starting small & growing up well.
If you have an opportunity, start. Start now. Start small.

Unpopular investing rules...
1. Never invest money you'll need in the next 3–5 years, in stocks
2. Your biggest investment risk is often yourself
3. Time in the market beats timing the market
4. Never invest in something you can't explain in one minute
5. Don't let one investment become more than 20–25% of your portfolio
6. Invest according to your goals, not someone else's returns
7. The first goal of investing is avoiding permanent loss
8. Returns are meaningless if inflation beats them
9. Your savings rate matters more than your investment returns
10. The 72 Rule : Divide 72 by your annual return to estimate how many years it will take your money to double.

5 MANTRAS OF RETIREMENT by Dr. Edward Odundo
After 16 years as CEO of Kenya’s Retirement Benefits Authority, Dr. Edward Odundo finally retired in June of 2017, facing the very system he had long helped shape. For 4 decades, he had been busy right at the heart of Kenya’s financial markets having worked at the NSE, IRA, KRA and now RBA……but nothing ever prepared him even for the silence in his own home on the next Monday after his retirement.
The transition was just deeply personal.
His three phones, once constantly alive with calls and decisions, went quiet. His wife, who was also an early riser, was still working and his four daughters were all grown with a life of their own……

Somehow, just because of the great in-flight service, I still end up booking our beloved late rider!
Happy weekend, beyond the oncoming #TURBULENCE !
