We used to go to this supermarket in college called Lucky’s that had a bar in the store, the idea being you could buy a beer and drink it while you shop. One day, as we’re checking out, the lady takes $3 off the bill and tells us everyone gets $3 off today. We ask if it applies to the bar, too, and she says yeah but seems unsure. So we walk over and as we’re ordering we notice there’s a special where one of the imperial stouts is $1/pint. Normally the beers are all like $8 minimum so this was a crazy deal. We order three pints and sure enough the coupon applies and we walk out having paid 21¢ since sales tax in Florida was 7% at the time. The girls we were with were like great, that was fun, now let’s drink them and go home, but my buddy and I were like absolutely not, this is the day now. So they ditched us and we went in and out probably ten or fifteen times for the next couple hours buying three beers each time. The bartender is laughing at our exploit and couldn’t care less. Eventually we have so much beer we could never hope to drink it, so I run home and get a five-gallon bucket which we dump the rest into in the parking lot. Finally the store closes and we go home and all get completely drunk. I will never forget this as one of the best afternoons of my life
