I usually avoid hospitals, but yesterday I went to the general hospital to check on my neighbor. He’s a carpenter and one of the kindest people I know. Last week, he left home early to help another neighbor whose roof had been damaged by the wind. As he climbed the ladder to begin repairs, his wife arrived, shouting angrily because he had forgotten to leave money for breakfast. In a moment of rage, she shook the ladder. He lost his balance, fell, and struck his head on a large stone. He lost consciousness instantly and was rushed to the hospital. He remained unconscious from last Saturday until yesterday, when he finally woke up. Neighbors have been contributing money for his treatment and proper care. I sincerely hope he recovers fully. His wife is now deeply remorseful and has been crying over the terrible consequences of her actions.
