Once a peace club member, always a peace club member! Great to see alumni members continuing to support their fellows and solidifying the bond between them. Connections like this help every generation of peace club members learn from the one before. Keep it up, Urumuri! 👏🏾

Volunteering as young people is patriotism in action👌🏾. Young people believe that they can take part in decision-making, work closely with leaders, and volunteer to build unity and accountable leadership. “Patriotism is not only about loving our country but also about taking responsibility for our communities.” Ntihinyurwa Emmanuel shares

Insightful data. The report points out the rise in youth NEET compared to last year in both F & M, with recorded increases of 2.8% points and 1% point, respectively, and by rural vs urban areas, with a higher rate of youth NEET recorded in rural areas. The question you asked is worth noting: “What is really behind the rise?” While that other sections of the report inform the declining youth employment, a rise in discouraged jobseekers, and declining labour force participation, it would be useful to understand whether these findings could also be attributed to the rising youth NEET rate, particularly given the rise recorded between last year’s Q3 and this year’s. Can we assume that the sections (2.3, 4.1, 3.3, or 6.4) could be key factors towards this rise? Understanding the underlying factors would make the findings more useful in informing targeted youth employment and skills development and where the gaps still are
🚨In August 2026 (2026 Q3), Rwanda's Labour Force Survey showed that the rate of youth not in Employment, Education, or Training (#NEET ) increased compared to August 2025. 🔎What is really behind the rise? == 🚨 Muri Kanama 2026, Ubushakashatsi ku bakora n'abashomeri mu #Rwanda bwerekanye ko umubare w'urubyiruko rutari mu kazi, mu ishuri no mu mahugurwa wazamutse ugereranyije na Kanama 2025. #RwandaStatistics

Today, with our CSO partners @crd_rw & @AJijukirwa, and the @SwissDevCoop, we joined citizens in their assembly in Mbogo cell, Kiziguro sector, @GatsiboDistrict. Citizens raised their priorities and concerns to sector leaders to inform planning and budgeting and demanded accountability on previous priorities that still pend action. Sector leaders reassured citizens about ongoing programs to expand access to water points, electricity, construction of more schools and equipping health posts. They also promised to advocate for the resolution of other issues at the district and central government levels. The visit was an insightful experience for partners to observe progress in citizen-centered governance and improved accountability at the local level.

Health care, education, and social protection are basic human rights. At our @NARwanda Musanze youth roundtable, young people made it clear that these rights must reach everyone, including young PWDs who need health centers and support systems built for them.

Do no harm principles: What are they? And how can we as young people learn from them to improve our social life? At our @NARwanda’s Musanze office, youth and youth volunteers learned how to spot the things that can cause conflict, explored connection between power dynamics and how they contribute to exclusion and escalation of tensions, and how Do No Harm principles can promote social cohesion, inclusive dialogue and non violent communication.

Currently following the 13th edition of #RGS26. According to data from #CGGI, Rwanda is doing well at the regional level, ranking second in Africa 👏 and 62nd globally. However, the #RGS26 report still shows gaps in the service delivery pillar. Compared to the 12th edition (71.73%), the quality of service delivery has significantly decreased by 3.25%. Coincidentally, the issue of service delivery was also raised yesterday during #MeetThePresident If we are looking at a 90% target in this pillar by the end of NST2, among the proposed recommendations, I think we also need to learn from other well-ranked countries, like Mauritius, to benchmark service delivery within Rwanda’s context, looking at areas such as long waiting times (especially in the public sector), accessibility of services to all, and digitalisation of services. If we want effective and citizen-centred service delivery by 2029, we must ensure that citizens can access the services they need, receive them in a reasonable time, and have a satisfactory experience.

Now i understand the intergenerational divide better. You write to a government institution and receive no response. Your Gen Z colleagues keep checking, wondering why a simple acknowledgement or update should take so long. Meanwhile, those of us who have grown accustomed to these delays keep reassuring them: “I am following up.” To them, this makes little sense. Their questions remind us how easily we normalise practices that deserve to change. Perhaps what we sometimes call impatience is a reasonable expectation of timely, respectful service. We should listen to their frustration and ask why silence has become acceptable to us. @batamurizagrac5 @umutonirebecca5 @RebeccaAkankun1 @Eppieeeeeeeeee @cyuzuzo_paola @FelixUriho

Today, at our HQ, we received our civil society partners to reflect on the coalition’s progress in policy advocacy in different areas such as Post-harvest Management, Land governance, Gender Based Violence, & Workplace Learning. We have appreciated the progress in collaborating with government and other stakeholders to advance policy actions, and harmonise our efforts for the desired socio-economic and governance transformation outlined in NST2. Additionally, we exchanged lessons, challenges, and mitigation measures. As a coalition, we remain committed to working together with other stakeholders to ensure policies reflect the realities on ground. #NeverAgainRwanda #NAR #CSO

When young people are given the opportunity to lead, they don’t just transform their own lives, but also those of their communities. Through our EYE Initiative (Empowering Young Entrepreneurs), young grantees who received support last year are turning their ideas into thriving agribusinesses. From creating livelihoods to improving access to food and opportunities in their communities, these young entrepreneurs are proving that investing in youth is investing in the future. We’re proud to witness their journey, and even prouder of the impact they are creating.👏🏾 @YouthEngage_rw @Igitekerezo_Pod #NeverAgainRwanda #EYEInitiative

What can young people learn from older generations, and what can older generations learn from young people? A @NARwanda initiated intergenerational dialogue held in Burera brought this question into focus. Participants reflected on Rwanda’s history, Genocide prevention, discrimination, hate speech and the role of different generations in building peace. Young people can question distortion, reject division, and speak against discrimination. Older generations can share lived experiences and help keep historical knowledge alive. One youth participant shared their takeaway: “Understanding our history is a shared responsibility.”

Civic participation, for young people, can also happen through the spaces already available within their communities. The monthly community service (Umuganda) is one of those spaces. Alongside community service, young people are using these spaces to engage citizens through discussions and creative approaches such as theatre, contributing to conversations on issues affecting their communities. #YouthVoicesRW
