🏆 Best Veteran of the 2026 Season: Primož Roglič 🇸🇮
For me, there can only be one winner here: Primož Roglič!
At 36, Roglič may no longer be the rider he was at his peak, but his end to the 2026 season was genuinely impressive.
He finished second overall at the Vuelta a España, proving that he can still compete at the highest level. Even if Tadej Pogačar didn’t abandon the race, Roglič would have finished third, ahead of established names such as Felix Gall, Richard Carapaz, Sepp Kuss and Oscar Onley.
That alone shows that Roglič still has plenty of quality and remains a strong contender in major stage races.
He then went on to become European time trial champion. It's fair to acknowledge that Remco Evenepoel was absent, and that the course suited Roglič's characteristics. Nevertheless, he still had to deliver the performance, and he did exactly that.
He may not be at his absolute peak anymore, but Roglič has proved that he still has what it takes to compete and win at the highest level.
For me, he's the clear choice as the best veteran of the 2026 season. 👏
