The fact that boys don't like reading is not because of some mysterious, 'underrated' reason. It's blindingly obvious that the vast majority of children's literature is not only not aimed at boys, but treats boys as a problem at best, in need of moral reform.
Young boys are being discouraged from getting into reading—and it’s because more books are missing one key element, @sophiah_n reports: theatlantic.com/culture/2026…

Here is the GoFundMe for Anna Lynch, who lost her children in the terrible tragedy in Mt Lebanon last night.
Also, if anyone is donating towards meals or anything for the first responders, please let me know.

So the NYT amply confirms the existence of internal polls telling the GOP that the war was sinking them.

I love these awards. We recognize the most talented student journalists working at @collegiatenet campus newspapers that represent conservative perspectives. Each of these students had their work reviewed by a committee of professional journos, and you can read the winners’ pieces right here:

A few years ago I read this book and there was a chapter that still haunts me that detailed how the Bolsheviks would take peasants on airplane rides so they could see for themselves that there was no God or angels in the sky. They wanted to dismantle an entire worldview where people were answerable to something beyond the material world and beyond the authority of the state. They wanted to replace what they saw as primitive superstition with their promise of an eventual communist society and its secular vision of redemption. The promise of Heaven offered a hope that they sought to extinguish.

This will be the biggest national wipeout for Republicans since 2006, when voters brutally punished the GOP for an ill-advised and poorly planned war in the Middle East.

"My friends, these people are our people. They don’t read Adam Smith or Edmund Burke, but they come from the same schoolyards and the same playgrounds and towns as we come from. They share our beliefs and convictions, our hopes and our dreams. They are the conservatives of the heart. They are our people. And we need to reconnect with them. We need to let them know we know how bad they’re hurting. They don’t expect miracles of us, but they need to know we care."
Happy birthday, Pat Buchanan: statesman, journalist, co-founder of @amconmag, and longtime voice of the American right.

On this All Souls Day, we remember in prayer all our beloved dead and every member of the faithful departed, especially those who have no one to pray for them.
Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

Another @Hillsdale & @HDaleCollegian success story!
Want a career in journalism?
@By_Christina (Hillsdale '26) is a Collegiate Network Fellow at @realDailyWire, where she meets with @michaeljknowles every day.
A year in a real newsroom for seniors and recent grads. $75,000 stipend.
I did a closet purge after I started having kids and donated everything that was synthetic (which I mostly bought new) and just started buying used on eBay/vinted/poshmark and they’re all 100% natural fabric staple pieces (some vintage some recent styles) and cost way less than what you’d often pay for something new that’s of much worse quality. I have so many best practices I want to share when I have time 🫶
I feel like clothes should be free. Whenever I see how normal stores price clothes I am SHOCKED. Shirts are like $150 now. Dresses r $499. I don’t spend anything near “list price” for anything I own (except lululemon cuz it’s all lasted me 10+ years) & I wear mostly rent the runway or amazon shit. I’m soooo confused by “fashion” & I have no idea how anybody affords to look so good like it either takes a billion dollars or a billion hours to source/maintain.
Our CN fellow works directly with @michaeljknowles every day, getting actionable feedback and real newsroom experience that’ll help make her an even more intrepid and diligent journalist.
If you’re a soon-to-be or recent grad who wants a career in media, apply by Feb 1!
