Good summary of these "christian" acts.
This didn't happen in a vacuum, the @SFGiants leadership from the top down let and/or encouraged this. It's evident by their tepid response. Cowards!
Mike Krukow was a 20 game winner for the @sfgiants and has been a longtime color analyst for the team with his former teammate Duane Kuiper. He has thoughts about the four Giants pitchers who hijacked Pride night last week.
“I would just hope they would understand the demographic of San Francisco and respect people for who they are. What you do to your uniform, that has weight to it. You can offend people. And why would you do that?”
Mike's son Wes is a dancer, is gay, and is married to his partner, Ted.
"“I’m so proud of him,” Krukow said. “I’ve seen gay life through my son’s eyes. The culture and the community is so beautiful.”"
I hope Landon Roupp, Ryan Walker, JT Brubaker, and Sam Hentges hold a conversation with Mike Krukow. Their choice has irritated and potentially alienated lot of the Giants fan base needlessly.
Regarding the verse, State Senator and Congressional Candidate for CA11 @Scott_Wiener had this to say:
"“To be clear, these players could have cited the rainbow bible verse on any of the other 364 days of the year. Instead, they chose to cite it only on Pride Night & only in connection with the rainbow Giants logo celebrating our LGBTQ community. There’s only one explanation for that choice — a choice the Giants tolerated,” Wiener wrote on social media. “It’s hard to envision the Giants tolerating this kind of behavior directed at any other community. The Giants can & must do better.”"
While the words of the Genesis verse sound inclusive, the Biblical and social contexts are not. God "gave" the rainbow in "mercy" after an apocalyptic flood wiped out most life on earth presumably to cleanse the earth of "sin" which reads like a threat to those these pitchers "morally" disagree with.
The "Reclaim the Rainbow" movement is curious- why does a natural phenomenon witnessed by all faiths and used metaphorically by the LGBTQ+ community need to be "reclaimed" as though it belongs only to Christians? And the "Reclaim the Rainbow" song makes it clear in homophobic lyrics what the "movement" is about- like these:
"What do you mean? They turned the rainbow to sin
But they don't know what it means
It is a promise, it isn't pride
God said He would no longer flood the Earth (flood the Earth)
Now it's for abominations
When they put their flags outside those churches..."
The @sfgiants need to do better, on and off the field. Their on field struggles might be more tolerable if they showed more tolerance.

Indeed. You can loathe Trump, who is indeed loathsome, but the rehabilitation of the odious Michael Cohen in some liberal circles has been pretty awful to see.
Donald Trump and Michael Cohen deserve each other, @ericlach writes. nyer.cm/IBGiYKj

ALT A quote from the New Yorker staff writer Eric Lach: Nearly a decade ago, they cooked up a hush-money scheme so crooked that it’s still jamming up the gears of American politics. Seven years ago, one became President, and the other allowed himself to fantasize about becoming Attorney General, or maybe White House chief of staff. Now one is an ex-con, and the other may soon be branded a felon, and then, in a few months, maybe President-elect.

One of the worst things about the 90s and early 00s was having to give a shit about what Joe Lieberman thought.

Our film “No Other Land” on occupied Masafer Yatta’s brutal expulsion won best documentary in Berlinale. Israel’s channel 11 aired this 30 second segment from my speech, insanely called it “anti semitic” - and I’ve been receiving death threats since. I stand behind every word.

If you're serious about promoting yourself as a Bay Area Tech CEO, and maximizing your seed round, you need to signal that you're on Team Venture Capitalist.
The best way to do this is by posting dehumanizing photos of homeless people, with musings about capitalist virtues.

This isn’t the dawn of a new -ism, it’s simply an era of weak politicians and strong monopolists whose lobbying and manipulation has temporarily shielded them from enforcement of the laws they’re breaking.

This ep goes *deep* on the SF politics of the moment. How tech billionaires deploying their millions of $$
I was cheering Julie on as I was listening “talk about the social trash collection list harvesting!” And she did!
Great description of SF conservative ideology.
New ep. of @sadfrancisco69 on GrowSF, TogetherSF and other signs of system decay. With @JuliePitta of @PhoenixProjNow
Similar to what the @DNC and Dem establishment is doing in the CA Senate race. Putting their thumb on the scales to get their guy @RepAdamSchiff elected over @RepKatiePorter and @BarbaraLeeForCA. What happened to let the voters decide?
Once again @NoLabels is showing their true colors: no delegates, no convention, no democratic process in selecting a nominee. Instead, a self-annointed “blue ribbon committee” is conducting interviews as if they have a job opening. The Presidency is much more than that folks. So here’s the question to @NoLabels: Since you refuse to reveal #WhoFundsNoLabels will you at least tell us who you gave blue ribbons to so that they can interview applicants to be President?

This is the most publicly documented genocide in our history.

It's war my friend. As always war is horrible, bitter and extremely cruel.
You think it is preventable by expressing raw emotions and anger. It has been part of the human nature from beginning of the time.
Yeah painful to watch but it's war
To answer Gil's question, yes they are.
To put a finer point on this, this Dark Web of Billionaires are all dear friends of EX-speaker Nancy Pelosi @TeamPelosi and hostile to the left and progressive values.
