I joined Twitter hoping to have enlightened conversations with other thinkers. Name calling as a response to ideas you don’t like is juvenile. Labeling anyone critiquing your position as “fascist” or “-phobic” is just plain lazy. Do better. Be better.
Posts like this one make me hopeful for future gens. We need men like this to step in and guide these misguided young men. Our daughters’ safety depends upon it! And here is one of the good ones, doing what he can. Hero work.
My 13 year old has a friend over and I told them to please quiet down because the baby is sleeping and he (friend) told me to shut up?? My kids all froze and my son looked at him like wtf?? And my husband who was on a call in his office was like, "Joe, I need to call you back." They're now on a walk discussing respect, kid was still smirking until my husband walked out and told him to get his shoes because they were going to go have a talk. Weird afternoon.

I've created a new woke superhero called 'Woman Man'. He's a middle aged guy who can instantly transform into a lady by saying some magic words. Doesn't act do much hero stuff. Mainly just watches porn and ruins sports events. But everyone still applauds his bravery.
I do not teach my kids to blindly obey authority… bc, this is the kind of crap bosses are gonna do at most entry-level jobs. My kids treat adults with the same respect as any other human being. It really is that easy. We are post-authoritarian. Raise your kids accordingly
My 16-year-old daughter works at an ice cream parlor after school.
Last Tuesday at 9:45 PM, she texted me two words: "Red light."
Her 24-year-old shift manager had just informed her that the adult closer called out sick, so she was expected to stay until 1:00 AM on a school night to clean the grease traps and lock up the store alone.
She told him she had an exam at 8 AM. He scoffed and told her: "If you aren't a team player, don't expect hours on next week's schedule."
She froze. Teenagers are conditioned to obey authority figures, even when those figures are taking complete advantage of them.
I walked through the glass front doors at 9:55 PM.
I didn't yell. I walked straight up to the counter, looked the manager in the eye, and said:
"Under state labor law, 16-year-olds cannot work past 10:00 PM on a school night. My daughter is clocking out at ten. If you have an issue with scheduling, give me the franchise owner’s direct number right now."
He stammered, turned red, and told her she could go.
We spend years teaching our kids to be polite, obedient, and respectful to adults.
If you don't teach them where the line is and show them that you will physically show up to hold that line predatory bosses and bad situations will walk all over them before they even finish high school.
I can attest to this. Hubby and I had a rough patch. It was pure suffering, but we stayed talking. We changed things in ourselves that hurt the other. 10 yrs later, we couldn’t be happier! We both believe our marriage is more passionate now than it was as newlyweds!
There is no way they just “drifted apart”. I’d really like to get HER side of the story… What two adults couldn’t just figure out how to reverse the fact they “drifted apart”?!
My wife and I decided to get a divorce.
There were no fights, just two adults who realised they drifted apart from each other.
This is probably the hardest thing I had to go through.
First of all, telling our girls...seeing them so sad was heartbreaking. But we are still a team as parents and will do everything for them!
Also we have to sell our house, the house I wanted to live in forever and raise my kids in...
Going back to a smaller appartment will be rough.
I still have a lot of to handle, that's why I wasn't active here on X.
I'm really grateful for all the people who reached out and asked where I was 🙏🏼
This women will always be a part of my life, she gifted me with two perfect daughters.
I wish her all the best, great memories were made in those years!
I'll be back soon. Thank you everyone 🙏🏼
Lu really does have the best take on this.
My husband isn’t drifting anywhere but older til he eventually drifts off to the grave and the has to deal with me in the afterlife. You think I’m going to make generations of our family fracture over *nothing*?!! Sorry kids you have to meet mom’s new boyfriend for Thanksgiving because I felt vaguely less connected to her back when you were little and the work of living distracted us from each other. Crazy. You’re in a stormy sea with your wife and kids you’ve got one boat to paddle those kids to shore and your ass is jumping out to try to find a better boat somewhere on the horizon. Now your babies wake up in every birthday in a house where mom or dad is gone. Forever. 😩

When you have kids, older parents will tell you “they grow up fast.” You’ll hear it a million times. Then one day you’ll realize how true it was. The time flies by as your kids get older. The days are short. Years don’t feel like years anymore. It’s bewildering. Impossible to talk about without sounding cliched.
This is actually my life right now. 16 and 13 yo sons as well as 5 and 2 yo sons. It’s awesome!!
People think in a big family you should have girls first because they will raise later babies but ACTUALLY you should have sons first because then they will do all the heavy stuff or outdoor stuff that is really hard with littles and there's no cultural narrative that will convince them they were victimized by this stuff and in fact they like showing off.
Bros is not gonna cut me off because bros had to put together an end table from IKEA and then lift the couch while I grab a lost toy and run down the road 5 times to get the ball the toddler threw downhill, wow you are crazy fast!!
And in fact unlike eldest daughter duties which are isolating and depressing for the eldest daughter, this boy stuff gets deployed at scale and they have fun helping other parishioners move with the other sons and young dads, it's a good time and they get pizza and appreciation and also it can impress girls.
You can address “weird” behaviors, encourage friendships, AND have your kid assessed by a neuropsychologist. Those are not mutually exclusive strategies— unless you are, indeed, just a high-functioning autistic 🤔

Fake news. My husband NEEDS me to scream whenever the car ahead of us brakes suddenly.

One of the best things hubby does for me is intervene when a kid starts getting disrespectful. “Don’t speak to my wife that way”. I do the same for him, but it doesn’t have that same chilling effect
There comes a point in every boy's life when he realizes he's stronger than his mother. There's nothing she can physically do to stop him from doing anything. He knows it. She knows it.
This is why the shadow of the father must always be looming behind the mother, backing up her authority.
It's also why so many single mothers fail their sons.
We live too close to Russia for comfort atm
BREAKING:
5 hospitals have been closed for quarantines in Siberia due to a possible plague outbreak.
The 28-year-old lab technician Darya Shipilova, died yesterday after breaking a test tube with live Yersinia pestis the Irkutsk Anti-Plague Institute on September 25th while handling samples.
A mask mandate has now been introduced at the huge aluminum plant in Irkutsk.
Some U.S. politicians are now calling for commercial air travel to and from Russia to be stopped until the situation is clarified.
This first symptoms of pneumonic plague typically start about 4 to 7 days after exposure. 200 people are under observation.
Very true. I’m not a crude person, but the fact I have 6 kids speaks to my marital satisfaction, no?
I can’t stop thinking about how every time these studies get brought up, people dismiss them saying stuff like “they couldn’t possibly be having good sex if they never do anything outside marriage” or “well it’s self reported so it doesn’t count” or my favorite “they are all just lying”.
The main reason people think this (besides the urge the world has to defame marriage in general) is that those of us in good, faithful, fabulous love-life marriages don’t go around talking about it.
We don’t share it on the internet.
We don’t make podcasts talking about it.
Because sex in marriage is sacred, private, and holy.
There’s a place for discussing it in person, with trusted friends or mentors, but in general it’s very hush hush.
Again, not because it’s BAD or we have dead bedrooms, but because it’s PRIVATE.
So of course people are gonna say “they are just lying”.
Chances are they don’t know about all the good, on fire marriages around them cause we don’t talk about it in public.
