I am honored to be presenting at the annual conference of the American Society of Preventive Oncology in Chicago. The Emergency Patient Support Network currently operates in two cities (Philadelphia and Camden NJ), and the program is receiving national attention.  We anticipate @LegacyOfHopePHL expanding to several other cities in the next year. Today information on @LegacyOfHopePHL's Emergency Patient Support Network was well received at a Roundtable discussion on Food Insecurity and Cancer Outcomes.  Tomorrow I'll have the opportunity to present during the Best of ASPO:  Social Determinants of Health. We're grateful to share the unique work that Legacy of Hope is doing in Philadelphia and proud to be a part of the important research in collaboration with the team at @KimmelCancerCtr and @TJUHospital.

Revolut CEO Nik Storonsky says the best employees are like “self-guided missiles.” “You don’t even need to tell them what the goal is. They self-identify the goal, and then they reach it.” “Average people, you tell them the goal, and then you need to spend weekly iterations with them. So you spend management time. That’s what I don’t want.” “The best executives are very tough.” “Likable is never the goal for executives. The goal is always to achieve the goal with the minimal number of resources spent.”

This is unbelievable!!!!
This is insane. Another killer. Another City employee. Hassan Bennett, chair of Philadelphia’s Citizens Police Oversight Commission, was just arrested on bribery charges for selling confidential information about criminal cases that he accessed through his job at the public defender’s office. He was convicted of murder in 2008, served 11 years, got a new trial, represented himself, and was acquitted in 2019. He sued the city and got a $4 million settlement in January 2025. Then they put him in charge of police oversight. This guy was accessing and selling records. Yet this city will not tell me why, as a crime victim, I am labeled and had my gun rights violated for years. The same city is hiring known killers. I didn’t kill anyone. I’m still fighting for basic constitutional rights. Same city. Same pattern. Past proves present. @dojphofficial @CivilRights audacy.com/kywnewsradio/news… #PastProvesPresent #WeAreTheNewsNow #Philly

American glass. American metal. American silicon. American batteries. American workers. American everything. BlueChip is the first American computer in decades. Don't let anyone lie to you and say it can't be done. Designed in California. Built in America.
BlueChip. Built in America. America made the first electronic computer to win a war. Now we depend on our greatest adversaries to build the computers that run our economy and defend our nation. Today, we bring it home.

This is probably the best piece I've ever written. If you have an addictive personality, this is how you stop fighting your nature and use it to your advantage, step by step. Block out 10-15 minutes, sit with it, and read it slowly.

Prosperity and peace are imminently attainable for everyone in this country. We need merely to transcend the parties that keep us fighting each other, throw off the corporate and foreign influence on our government, and return to the principles laid out in our Constitution.

a very simple solution to virtually every problem would be to stop allowing people who live off taxpayer money to vote anyone whose entire livelihood depends on the government taking money from other people will always vote for a government that takes more money we’ve built a system where people can literally vote to give themselves more of other people’s money the conflict of interest is beyond ridiculous and if you remove the incentive you remove the problem
The point of no return by Richard von Mises is worth reading: "A state becomes almost unreformable when the majority of the population is financially or structurally dependent on the state (state employees, civil servants, recipients of subsidies, grants, or transfer payments, etc.). As soon as those who net benefit from or are supported by the state outnumber those who do not, the system blocks reforms, since the majority votes out of self-interest for the preservation or expansion of state services." Does this sound familiar? Some European countries, France, Belgium, Finland are already way beyond that point, closely followed by Germany, Spain, Austria and Italy. It works for a while, as long as markets buy more sovereign debt at reasonable interest rates. The party ends when they stop though. For France, they stopped this month, Belgium will be next. The longer the socialist illusion persists, the more painful the inevitable cuts and adjustments will be. It’s pure arithmetic. Good luck Europe, good luck Euro. Buckle up, it won’t be pretty.

David Friedberg: France’s Crisis Is a Warning for America “France is a bellwether for the West. So take a look at this chart. This chart is a measure of public spending as a percent of GDP. And you can see the comparison of France's public spending as a % of GDP to the peak public spending as a % of GDP of major communist nations.” @Chamath: “So do you think France is a communist state? They spend like it.” @Jason: “Well, it's certainly been a socialist state, right?” Chamath: “Is it working?” @Friedberg: “That's my point. And I think this is such a prescient lesson for the West to look at. We all think that there's some political problem with Macron or whoever it was. The more the government spends, the worse the conditions get for its people, not the opposite, and then the people riot and revolt. Take a guess where the US is today. US public spending is roughly 36% of GDP. France today is operating its national government spending deficit is 5.4% of GDP. The US is actually 6.2% of GDP. France is, I think, probably the first to go because they're only growing their economy at half a percent while the US is growing at 2.3%. So we're still kind of hanging on because we have some degree of economic growth that's allowing us to kind of hold things together. But I would argue that we are facing the same sort of fiscal cliff which leads to this extraordinary social unrest as France. All the economic measures are aligned, we're at the same rate, we're at the same set of problems, and we're starting to see the cracks in the system. There's probably a multi-year solution.”

A retired NASA engineer who had worked on the Space Shuttle program for 25 years was hired by SpaceX at age 62. He described the first week as the most disorienting experience of his professional life. At NASA, a design change required 3 meetings, 2 committees, a review board, and 6 to 18 months of documentation. At SpaceX, his new supervisor said "if it works, build it. If it doesn't, change it by Friday." He sat at his desk after the first day and called his wife. He told her he felt like a man who had been swimming with ankle weights for 25 years and someone just cut them off. He could move. He could decide. He could build something in the morning and test it in the afternoon. The constraint that he had accepted as the nature of aerospace engineering turned out to be the nature of bureaucracy. Within 6 months he had contributed to more design iterations than he had completed in his last 5 years at NASA. Not because he was working harder. Because the time between having an idea and testing the idea collapsed from months to hours. The same brain. The same knowledge. A different operating system. He described a specific moment where he proposed a modification to a Raptor engine component. At NASA, the proposal would have entered a queue. At SpaceX, the modification was machined by the end of the day and tested by the following morning. He watched his idea become a physical object in 18 hours. At NASA, 18 hours would not have been enough to schedule the first meeting to discuss whether to schedule a meeting. He told an interviewer: "I didn't get smarter when I went to SpaceX. I got faster. The intelligence was always there. The system was in the way." The difference between SpaceX and NASA is not talent. NASA has extraordinary talent. The difference is the time between a thought and a test. SpaceX compresses it. NASA elongates it. The same engineer produces 10x more at SpaceX than at NASA because the bottleneck was never the engineer. It was the meetings about the meetings about the work.

You people love government so much.
The IRS sent armed agents into a family bakery and drained $68,382 from its bank account. Their “crime”? Depositing their OWN CASH in amounts under $10,000. Then the government demanded ANOTHER $160,000 and a guilty plea to a FELONY. The IRS called it “structuring”: deliberately keeping deposits small to dodge bank reporting rules. DAVID VOCATURA: “I said to them, ‘Maybe I should get a lawyer.’ And they said, ‘You don’t need one, step in the back.’” “Until the day they came in, I had no idea what structuring was.” “I’m a law-abiding citizen. I can’t remember the last time I got a speeding ticket.” Nearly three years after seizing the money, a prosecutor came back with a deal that carried up to FOUR YEARS IN PRISON: DAVID VOCATURA: “They wanted us to pay another additional $160,000 in fines and plead to a felony charge of structuring.” They refused. You bake bread for three generations. You pay your taxes. You put your own money in the bank. And the IRS treats you like a criminal, demanding nearly a quarter million dollars. CONTEXT: Fortunately, the IRS didn’t get away with this one. Hours after the Institute for Justice sued, the IRS agreed to return all $68,382.22. Two weeks later, it withdrew a grand jury subpoena demanding eight years of the bakery’s business records. Crazy that they tried to ruin a business over depositing money into their own bank account.

Scammer Payback Helped Me Destroy a Scammer’s Computer Live “I've got a scammer that it's 1:41 a.m. for him and he has, like, no battery left on his computer. We've been watching this guy for a little while. ... Why don't we put gummy bears all over the screen and, like, have them fall from the sky and just destroy this guy's computer?” “What if I already have your computer? Are you looking at your computer right now? ... I have Shawn Ryan with me. You don't want to mess with him. ... We're watching your screen, guy. ... I'm going to destroy your computer in three, two, one.” @ScammerPayback

If you get addicted to things easily, you have one of the rarest traits there is. Most people can't stay interested in anything for more than a week. You can lose 6 hours to something without noticing. Right now that goes to games, feeds, and whatever hooks you first. That's the only problem. Pick one hard thing actually worth being addicted to. A skill, your body, your work. Give it the same obsession for 2 years and you'll pass people who've been at it for 10.
