This is the grossest ad I can think of in my time in politics. The fact that Vivek Ramaswamy is standing by this ad & not immediately pulling it tells you everything you need to know about his character.
SCOOP: Vivek Ramaswamy is doubling down on the explosive ad featuring Amy Acton's estranged mother attacking her daughter, putting $4 million behind it despite fierce bipartisan backlash More >> axios.com/2026/10/21/ramaswa…

Here’s what @elonmusk and others keep missing: Russia can end this war by stopping its invasion. Ukraine can’t end it by surrendering without losing its freedom. Telling Ukrainians to stop defending themselves because fighting costs lives rewards the country killing them. If your “solution” demands courage from the invaded and nothing from the invader, that’s peak weakness. And you need to stop pretending to be some alpha

Trump: "Russia, frankly, has been fine on Ukraine. They haven't been doing much."

WSJ: “The evidence compounds that Mr. Trump wants Ukraine to surrender on Mr. Putin’s terms.”
WSJ Editorial Board: “Congress is preoccupied with the Nov. 3 election, but Mr. Trump may not appreciate the anger he’s courting if he keeps aiding Mr. Putin. When the election is over there needs to be a bipartisan reckoning for Mr. Trump’s budding alliance with the Kremlin against Ukraine, Europe and American interests” wsj.com/opinion/to-russia-wi…

President Trump’s decision to waive sanctions against Russia as Putin continues his brutal war of aggression against Ukraine dishonors the legacy of the late Senator Lindsey Graham and is decidedly not in the national interests of the United States and should be reversed. Putin is a war criminal and only understands strength. Waiving Graham Act sanctions on Russia signals weakness at a moment that demands American strength. Now is the time to stand strong against Russian aggression, just as we did during the years of the first Trump Administration. A victory in Ukraine would be a victory for freedom and is squarely in the national interests of the United States. If Putin overruns Ukraine, I have no doubt it will only be a matter of time until Russia’s military crosses a border that our troops will have to deal with him. For the cause of freedom, for America’s national security and that of our allies including Ukraine, President Trump should Restore sanctions under the Graham Act immediately, Rescind the diesel deal with Russia and Rally our Allies to ensure Ukraine has the military support it needs to repel and defeat this Russian invasion once and for all. Actually we were correct to note Trump’s routinely bizarre, obsequious posture toward Putin. Just because you chose not to see it until now when it’s shoved directly in everyone’s face doesn’t make us hysterical, it makes you transparently wrong all along.
There's been a lot of hysteria over the years at Trump's posture towards Russia, which has often been worse rhetorically than practically. But this time, the wolf comes as a wolf.

Beyond irresponsible. What part of enforcing a law passed 86-11 by the Senate does the President and his advisors not understand? It’s unconscionable that this administration is capitulating to a Russian dictator who illegally invaded Ukraine and butchers innocent civilians every single day. If the President wants to actually bring down energy prices, he can do it by solving the Iran problem, not by doing a solid for Vladimir Putin. apnews.com/article/russia-sa…

Pathetic. Of course we waived sanctions. The Republican Party has become a Vichy party. It's the party of appeasement and weakness.

There are certain decisions that will go down as history-defining moments. This is one of them. It's a terrible misjudgment of Putin, who has made it clear he wants to destroy the West. We shouldn't help him do it.

Yes, which is why a clean voter ID law would make sense both in terms of politics and policy. But Trump wants a ludicrously onerous proof-of-citizenship law, which is a different thing.
Your daily reminder: most Americans support voter ID.

We're not taking in so much money. It wouldn't be easy enough. And Congress would have to approve it. Also, what clearly makes it a bribe: If he thinks he can do it without Congress, that means he could do it now. So the only reason to do it after the midterms is bribery.
Q: Do you expect Congress would need to approve the $5,000-- TRUMP: I don't know, but it's easy enough. It's $5,000 to all adults in the country, and we can easily handle that because we're taking in so much money

President Trump yesterday: “If the Republicans win the House of Representatives and the United States Senate … I will issue a dividend to every adult citizen … for $5,000.” Number of adult US citizens: 245 million Cost: $1.2 trillion But unlike a profitable company, the federal government has no earnings from which to pay a dividend. Instead, it's running a deficit of $2 trillion. So where would the money come from? Absent spending cuts or new revenues, we’d have to borrow it - adding another $1.2 trillion to the national debt. And what would that do to inflation? We've seen this movie before. The covid stimulus programs were funded with borrowed money - pushing inflation above 9%, the highest level in 40 years.

A big reason for the trade imbalance? We were buying oil at below market rates from Canada. We had a sweat heart deal. Take oil imports out of it and we had a trade surplus. This thing with Canada is moronic. And the people buying into Trump's bizarre misunderstanding of basic facts and economics are telling on themselves.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
US Census Bureau data shows the average annual US goods trade deficit with Canada was about $38 billion over 2016-2025, not $60 billion. Much of the deficit is from energy imports; excluding them the US has typically run a surplus. census.gov/foreign-trade/… economics.td.com/ca-canada-us-t… ustr.gov/countries-regi…

I choose the Marines to deal with the 30 year bonds.
President Trump says his Treasury secretary has “a very good, natural touch for the bonds and interest.” Asked about additional intervention, the president says, “The ultimate intervention is our military, and if we have to use that, we will.”
