SaaSFast - The Startup Founder Idle RPG
this is my new personal project.
gonna build in public and post updates in the thread as links to each update 👇
good post
Here's the correct opinion on the Tyler Denk <> Marc Lou newsletter software drama:
> MailCheap's launch is objectively a FLOP
@marclou's posts dunking on @denk_tweets and promoting his vibe-coded product have 2.5M+ views
7 days later, MailCheap has just 27 customers ($653 MRR).
That’s about 1 customer for every 70k people who saw it
> Yet, even if MailCheap is not successful long-term, it's still a WIN for Marc
He's gained a massive amount of attention and is continuing to grow his cult-like following
> Marc is a genius marketer, but… Tyler Denk is too
This is King Kong versus Godzilla.
These are two of the best guys in the world at creating spectacles and controversy (around niche business topics).
> Tyler took control of the narrative and shifted it from "beehiiv price increase" to "vibe-coded software Vs beehiiv’s track record"
No one's talking about beehiiv's prices anymore.
And a ton of people have jumped in to justify the pricing - or talk about how low it is compared to other email competitors.
INSTEAD, we're now arguing about the topics where beehiiv has an edge:
Deliverability, product, track record
And yes…
People are crying about Tyler “punching down.”
Tyler’s provocative language (basement dwellers) is harsh on purpose.
He gets back in the spotlight and can direct it where he wants.
The reaction:
Pearl-clutching and people accusing Tyler of being a “bad guy” because he counterpunched after being attacked first.
> No one will care about Marc fans taking the 'moral high ground' 3 months from now...
But they remember beehiiv.
> The idea that Tyler and beehiiv should just shut up and put their heads down is stupid anyway
If you are attacked, the right move is to attack back.
Most people don't realize that power comes from attention and positioning.
Not what your revenue is now.
Marc's influence is on the same level as Tyler, if not bigger.
It would be stupid to not respond and let Marc control the narrative and his positioning in the ESP market without pushback.
Every founder needs to tell their own story, or someone else will do it for you.
No one is bullying anyone.
Beehiiv is a bigger business.
But Marc has 350,000+ more followers - and is the #1 or #2 influencer in the indie hacker space
Both these guys started building in public around the same time in ~2022 and are around the same age.
We can let founders have a fun debate without all the moral-high-ground BS.
You can't win as a founder by staying quiet anymore.
You need to be loud. Polarizing. You must control the narrative to build a category-defining business.
And remember…
We're talking about email here. It's not that serious.
This is marketing.
They both get massive attention.
Nobody gets hurt. Everyone wins.
P.S. Online debates strip away nuance and dumb things down. That’s why IN-PERSON discussions are so much better.
If Tyler and Marc both want to chat at New Media Summit 2027 (@TheNMSummit ) I'm happy to arrange it.
ya’ll wouldn’t be doubting @denk_tweets if you spent 5 min listening to his ‘big desk energy’ spotify playlist
yaaaaaaas
Grok @bot now supports plus aliases! Send and receive email using dedicated aliases, or set up routines that only trigger for mail to a specific alias!
this is so cool! also cafe stack mentioned!!
"hark": a pi-durable voice agent
Sign in with Cloudflare, tap, talk.. No chat box
Your agent lives in a @threejs plane. It can generate 3d shapes, scenes, stories, slideshows..
Build your own side panels / interface on top
Customizable: pick the brain, the voice, the tools.
Plug in any MCP server by URL.
CAFE stack: @Cloudflare, @alchemy_run, @foldkit, @EffectTS_
say hello yourself: hark.coey.dev
i called it! this is great!
coil
A small showcase you can deploy:
- @pidotdev Pi Durable
- @EffectTS_ v4 + @foldkit
- @Cloudflare Workers, Containers, DOs, Workers AI + AI Gateway
- Access, or Sign in with Cloudflare: your threads run on your own account
Here is video of me, watching a video about coil, built on coil itself

As you invite more agents to our work, and create software factories to be more productive than ever, you’ll soon outsource everything to an agent, even the thinking.
The work you will do will feel frictionless, it will feel amazing on the surface, but once you go a bit deeper, it’ll feel extremely shallow. It won’t reflect the struggles you went through, your decisions, and ideas.
It will no longer remind you of you and the work you aspire to.
You will turn into just another extremely efficient producer of things, but not a creator like you were before.
Invite friction to your work.
good read. not light though, but worth it
🗞️ nobody should type code by hand anymore. here's what's left.

uuuuhhh @thsottiaux, those wonderful 62,500 credits we got two weeks back... just got burnt through even though i didn't have automatic reload on?
no ways! lets goooo 🚀
I, along with the rest of the Deno company, am joining Cloudflare!
I'm motivated by abstractions that give leverage at scale. The Cloudflare workers programming model is a hermetic computing abstraction that truly embodies the old Sun Microsystems tagline "The Network Is the Computer". The programming abstractions that Kenton designed really force scalability. If you squint your eyes you might even conceive of it as a distributed high-level operating system.
The only major problem with this distributed operating system is that practically people only use it inside of Cloudflare. Cloudflare is an amazing service for nearly all applications - but there are many situations when you might need it to run elsewhere.
I want to solve this problem and make the Workers programming model the default way you write server-side application code.
The time is ripe for new abstractions too - what software we run and how we run it are changing quickly with AI. The number of agents is exploding and I don't think they all need a Linux VM. A much more lightweight Durable Object would suffice for many applications. I'm super keen to talk to people who want to self-host agents at scale on DOs - msg me!
yoooooo @EffectTS_ mentioned!
Replying to @vkryukov
well you can also think of it as token efficiency. for example if your agents can’t verify their work, chances are there will be a lot of bugs and rework that needs to happen later, which also requires more tokens (and unhappy customers)
there’s also many ways to improve ttr deterministically, like with a high quality test suite, using libraries like XState (from @DavidKPiano) or @EffectTS_ to make it easier to enforce business logic invariants, etc. your codebase is a form of memory and an input to agents
