Fantastic results for @mkwittmann and @cormacdbskysocial on their work supported by Max Planck UCL Centre for Computational Psychiatry and Ageing Research and COMP2PSYCH!!
New paper from our lab now in @Nature . We show that our brains use basis functions or "building blocks" to navigate social interactions. Rather than tracking every individual separately, social information is compressed into patterns that can be flexibly combined.

Neural networks need a dorsal stream to learn structure in natural scenes! really proud of this work led by @tsonj

How does the brain represent the structure of visual scenes independent of their contents? In “Zero-shot counting with a dual-stream neural network model” (@NeuroCellPress), we propose a model based on the parallel pathways of the primate visual system. shorturl.at/Zp5EA

Check out our new paper on self-other distinction led by @EPronizius 👏🏼🤩
🚨 We've all been there—feeling sad & assuming everyone else feels the same or struggling to figure out if our beliefs align with those around us. This ability to distinguish between self & others (SOD) is a vital skill for navigating social interactions. doi.org/10.1098/rsos.240662
