Pleasure to collaborate on work led by the fantastic @IdoBa1
Excited to share our recent publication in @NatureComms! We started by trying to make people stop associating the money rewards they obtain with irrelevant features of their behavior. In the first experiment, we used clear instructions framed as a story, and it didn't help...

Excited to share our new preprint! 🚨 Does human learning have an automatic aspect? Is it possible that we learn things that are counterproductive and only lead to reduced gains? We asked participants to choose cards to win rewards. Some cards had higher chances of winning than others, but the card locations on the screen were completely irrelevant. No matter how hard we tried, people still assigned value to locations. We gave them clear and vivid instructions. We quizzed them. We tested them across three sessions with 600 trials. And yet, they kept assigning value to the locations as if they mattered.

🚨 New preprint alert! 🚨 Very proud of my fantastic PhD student @ViPeJuan for producing this interesting work! 👇 @QM_Psych
🚨 New preprint alert! 🚨 w/@moran_rani osf.io/preprints/psyarxiv/rk… From partisan news to algorithmically curated content, we constantly receive biased misinformation. With biased input, can our beliefs be accurate? Turns out, biased misinformation distorts our beliefs! 👇🧵 1/13

Very excited to see our (hard) work now published @PNASNews 👇With a great team led by the superb @LLuettgau @QM_Psych
Excited to announce that this work has now been published in @PNASNews pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pnas.24… We propose a computational account of how humans decompose complex dynamical experiences into subprocesses and reuse these in an abstract, compositional manner in novel situations.
