The Cubs went 108 years between titles.
When they finally won in 2016, Game 7 went to extra innings, had a rain delay, and Cleveland had tied it with a two run homer in the eighth off Aroldis Chapman.
The Cubs were down 3-1 in that series. Kyle Schwarber came back from a torn ACL to DH in the World Series having not played since April. Ben Zobrist hit the go ahead double in the 10th. Then Kris Bryant fielded the last ground ball smiling before he'd even thrown it. It's the best Game 7 I've ever seen.

As political director at the @NRCC last cycle I did hundreds of political briefings to lobbyists. After nearly every single briefing where I walked through the map, candidates, hits, and polling…I clearly had infinitely more data and intel than them. Without fail they would tell me when I wrapped “I just think the House is lost.”
Most (not all) lobbyists make decisions on the collective DC bubble which is inherently never-Trump. Hence, the only election Nikki Haley won in the 2024 primary was Washington, DC.
