At the 2003 BET Awards, Michael Jackson made a surprise appearance to present his idol, James Brown, with the Lifetime Achievement Award In Los Angeles
MJ, deeply emotional, praised James Brown as his biggest influence since childhood, delivering a heartfelt speech, stating, "Nobody has influenced me more than this man right here" and noted that he had looked up to him since he was six years old
Before the formal presentation, the two shared a brief, unchoreographed dance moment on stage.
The event is widely considered one of the most iconic moments in the history of the BET Awards.

Every single "Is XYZ artist bigger than Michael Jackson?" question is answered the same way .... NO.
It doesn't matter the genre, chart milestones or net worth.
The end.

30 years ago today, Michael Jackson’s “Ghosts” premiered. The supernatural short film doubled as the longest music video of its era. Directed by Stan Winston, co written by Stephen King and starring MJ in multiple roles including the Maestro and the Mayor of Normal Valley. It paired top tier choreography, practical effects and the songs “2 Bad,” “Is it Scary,” and “Ghosts.”
A dark, playful follow up to the spirit of Thriller, it also carried the message about not fearing people who are different. Still under seen compared to its pedigree, it holds up as one of MJ’s most ambitious visual projects.
Did it scare you⁉️👻💀

You know what? This is probably ripped from my VHS. Why? When we moved back in 2004, we put everything in storage and forgot to make payments soooo yeah.
I taped this on VH1 back in the day. When I found it on YouTube it took me back.
