Nobody cares what people like this think. Their view is as immaterial as mine. 12 jurors are all that matter.
injuries that she claimed she had. Brand admitted they had anal sex, so we know it happened. They both agree to that. The division is over whether she consented and I see zero reason to believe the woman in this case.

As interest rates head up, this is an interesting take.
Shaping up to be a pretty good week.

TLDR - Megyn believed a rapist and happily platformed him.
She admitted that w/in moments of meeting RB backstage, she used her tongue on his anus (as another woman was fellating him). She hadn’t even been introduced. Later she went to his place excited for sex (which they had). The two discussed anal sex b/4 hvg it - she said it was her 1st time. Her friend testified that the accuser admitted to her that she agreed to it (told RB “be gentle”). RB testified they watched tv together after. When a reporter first contacted accuser about RB she said “I’m not sure my story has much in it; I was an idiot, young & stupid, probably as much to blame.”

The online right, let’s not forget, loved him and his supposed Christian conversation. The usually correct, and genuinely conservative in the correct sense, @ClarkeMicah called it early.
Remembering how thoroughly obnoxious Russell Brand was has made today even better. Peter Hitchens got this right.

A Sam Francis reference there. Nice touch.
Democrats won enough trifectas last night to theoretically obtain an absolute majority of the electoral college for the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact, and they certainly have Congressional majorities large enough to authorize such a compact. The only question is whether it would survive a court challenge. If they win the Presidency in 2028 and stack the Supreme Court as many Dems have threatened to do the moment they have the votes, there’s a chance that we will never again have Presidential elections in America decided by the Electoral College. I do not think people fully understand yet that Democrats won enough elections last night to permanently change this country in a way that may make things impossible to ever undo. Political parties operate off incentives. Their goal is to win elections, not permanently pander to a specific demographic constituency. While they can spend years or even decades in the wilderness, eventually, someone will look at the median voter and determine that he too can win an election by pandering to everyone to the Left or Right of that individual. So what happens when one side of the equation permanently changes the rules so that the median voter shifts from someone living in Ohio to say someone living in Virginia? The Beautiful Losers may not immediately return to power tomorrow, but make no mistake they are quietly waiting in the wings, hoping that Democrats change the rules of the American electoral process in order to permanently enshrine them as the natural controlled opposition.

That sound you can hear is Silicon Valley getting ready to switch sides again. Their boy is done. They need a new horse now. It’s also the sound we heard faintly in Makerfield and Holborn. It’s opening the political bottle and discovering, for the 1st time since 2016, that the populist fizz is going. Even when populists win, it’s not going to be sustainable. When America sneezes, we all catch a cold. Welcome to the post-populist dawn.

Let’s come back to this one and see how it ages. Fine wine or milk.
I suspect the Republicans will do a great deal better than pundits and MSM have indicated. Great ! 🐘 Early results: Guam Governor is surprising win for Republicans. Trump has been surprisingly quiet / low key for months - a strategy at work? 🔴 Ada/Calvo – 15,945 (51.5%) 🔵 Terlaje/Perez – 14,925 (48.1%) It's been Democrat since 2019.

It’s good to see the old profile posting again. Whatever people might think of what happened, Trump’s account changed social media communications forever.
It is my Great Honor to endorse America First Congressman, Byron Donalds, who is running for Governor of Florida, a State that I love, and WON BIG, in 2016, 2020, and 2024!   I know Byron well, have seen him tested at the highest and most difficult levels, and he is a TOTAL WINNER! Byron has a great wife, Erika, and three beautiful sons. They are very proud of him! His opponent, David Jolly, is a Radical Left Dumocrat who wants massive Tax Increases, Open Borders, Men playing in Women's Sports, and Transgender Mutilization of your Children. David Jolly is Reckless, Radical, and Dangerous! On the other hand, as your next Governor, Byron will have a BIG Voice, and work closely with me to advance our America First Agenda. He will fight tirelessly to help Keep our Border SECURE, Stop Migrant Crime, Strengthen our Military, Protect our Veterans, Advance American Energy DOMINANCE, Cut Taxes and Regulations, Promote MADE IN THE U.S.A., and Defend our always under siege Second Amendment.   Byron Donalds has my Complete and Total Endorsement to be the next Governor of the Great State of Florida. GET OUT AND VOTE FOR BYRON — HE WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN! President DONALD J. TRUMP

Good. I know of at least one active staffer who has a conviction for domestic violence and who ended up working in an office with a 21yr old female graduate. I question why the MP took them on anyway, but moving from self declared to actual checking is a positive step to stop this.
EXCL: MPs and parliamentary staff could be required to take a criminal record check before being given a security pass, and receive anti-harassment training under a pioneering scheme to root out violence against women @peterwalker99 reports. theguardian.com/society/2026…

I hear @GWR are doing a bunch of upgrades in Slough over November and Christmas. Fair enough. I want the track to work. Imagine how good it would be though @Heidi_Labour and @jamesmurray_ldn if the South West (that blob of land if you head left on the map and down a bit) actually had working WiFi. It could. £12m it’ll cost. You’ve committed £57m for it already. I read the Space Strategy so you don’t have to! We know the tech exists because I’ve watched it being tested when that F1 car got parked in Paddington. We spend more on that on bat tunnels for HS2. And northern metro systems. Come on @andyburnham - don’t just be King of the North. Do something for the South West and South Wales as well as we - again - get ready to take another “upgrades” battering.

And yet, despite all that private sector experience, the Shadow Chancellor delivered that speech! I pick on it unfairly to prove the point!
This says it all, frankly! h/t @sebs_tweets

There’s a lot of #FM27 takes. Here’s mine. Strap in. It’s sophisticated. FM27 is miles better than FM26. It’s not however as good as FM24 There ends my TED Talk. It’s good enough I’ll probably watch some YouTube on it this year though.

The tax rates are huuuuuuge. But Most won’t really notice that much because they don’t have a lot saved!
Tax rate on cash savings interest set to hit extraordinary levels from 6 April 2027: 24% with £1,000 allowance for basic-rate taxpayer; 44% with £500 allowance for higher rate; 49% with no allowance for additional rate. Surely boosts demand for short-term, low-coupon gilts.

It’s a little bit Temu Trump and Vance this. I like Nigel, but that’s a poor answer and a really toady clap along.
Not sure what’s the worse look. Nigel Farage publicly running down his own people. Or Robert Jenrick sycophantically laughing and clapping along as he does it.

If only the Prime Minister was in a position, such as being Prime Minister, where he could probably fund cancer treatment and research instead of people like my wife having to work all the hours under the sun because there’s no fucking support staff anymore and the waits for treatment are through the roof. That would be good. But, hey, Greggs Stake Bakes and drinking on terraces.
I’ve got so annoyed at comments today. My mum, dad and best friend died from cancer. I want a PM that gives a sh*t about stuff like this. And if Gogglebox gets @SU2C more attention, all power to @andyburnham and @MetroMayorSteve 👏🏻

I urge @wesstreeting to speak to the Metal Packaging Manufacturers Association. If he did, he’d discover these folks have been trying to warn government they’re in danger of offshoring the tin can industry. I hope the public cocks less of a deaf ear to Wes and his warnings then some in government have to industry folks on the coal…or should that be tin…face.
“Be ready by having some everyday essentials… three litres of water per person per day, tinned goods... to last a few days” Speaking to @vicderbyshire, Defence Secretary Wes Streeting details advice to households to be prepared for a “dangerous and turbulent world”. #Newsnight

Declaration of interest. I know Francesca a little bit and I live in the constituency. What I find interesting about this clip is not her words, about which some will doubtless agree and others will disagree, but the fact an expression of her view leads to others braying like farmyard animals. I’ve met quite a few of them with my research and know them to be intelligent folks. Why the performative stuff.
Ban face coverings including face veils like the burka. Other countries have and we urge the UK 🇬🇧 to do the same. #wales #swansea #gower #uk #banfacecoverings

I don’t understand this row. Nobody watches gogglebox anymore.
BREAKING A political row has broken out over Andy Burnham's decision to go on Channel 4’s programme ‘Gogglebox’. A Conservative source tells me that Kemi Badenoch should be invited on to the show. One says: "It's Channel 4's job to ensure political balance." Nigel Farage appeared on Gogglebox when he was leader of the UK Independence Party in December 2014. A spokesman for Reform UK says: "Nigel has done it before and would happily do it again." More with me now on @GBNEWS.
