A cruise ship that marketed itself as a "permanent home" has suspended its three-year voyage due to fuel costs, forcing over 200 passengers to disembark in Cambodia.
The owners of the MV Odyssey said monthly fuel expenses per cabin that historically averaged $1,800 have reached an estimated $6,000 to $8,000 in parts of Asia due to the war in Iran.
Now the boat is docked at the Cambodian port of Sihanoukville with no certain departure date for over 200 passengers and 156 crew members.
