Suffice to say, I’d go to war for @AngieNixon.
Incredibly powerful reporting from More Perfect Union
Adding my voice to those saying that this headline is grossly inaccurate.
(A) This is speaking about a very specific sub-set of donations;
(B) This is only looking at a very specific class of consultants;
(C) This does not do an honest job distinguishing between "consultant and vendors" and "ads" (considering consultants and vendors are the ones invoiced to place ads).
If you want to talk about ways we should make consulting and campaigns more efficient and reduce the current bloat HMU. It's very real and I have SO many ideas.
If you want to engage in self-rage baiting by reading something that makes you feel superior by shoddily castigating "insiders", "consultants", the "establishment" and whatever other buzz words are your favorite form of rage; go ahead and indulge in this article's premise.
73% of your campaign donations go to consultants and vendors; only 13% goes toward ads. This is 4x the cut consultants made 20 years ago. Important work by @JakeMGrumbach and Adam Bonica on the capture of the Democratic Party by consultants.

Idk why it’s only ever me and @steveschale who get quoted in FL pieces.
That’s probably part of the problem. Anyway, we can celebrate how kickass of a campaign Angie is running and acknowledge how hard of a job chair Fried has.
Let’s put FL back on the map in two weeks.
On August 18, when given the choice between Angie Nixon and Alex Vindman, a stiff, poll-tested moderate of the kind Democrats have been foisting upon Floridians for years, voters chose Nixon by a decisive 12-point margin. The result shocked national commentators.
It was a testament to how poorly Vindman understood Florida — “He says he’s lived here for three years,” Nixon says, “but I had never heard of him” — that he failed to see what was obvious on the ground: Democratic voters were fed up with the status quo.
Nixon, a dynamic 42-year-old Black single mother turned union organizer, has premised her Senate campaign on the idea that GOP rule in Florida has been a disaster. The Democrats’ go-to response over the past 30 years has largely been to run the most anodyne candidates they can find, only to watch the state become redder. Nixon has taken the opposite approach, seizing on a polarizing agenda of bigger government and universal programs that pundits long assumed would exclusively resonate in deep-blue states like New York.
What makes Nixon different, according to people who know her, is that her public brawling is matched by her shrewdness and stamina as an organizer. “Angie won the Democratic primary because she has been knocking on doors, talking to people, alongside people, for decades,” says educator and writer Phillip Agnew. She is unafraid to talk to anyone.
The public line is that she’s running to win this election, even if the polls say that result is unlikely. But no matter the outcome, she is providing a template for the kind of durable grassroots operation Democrats have neglected when running in Florida.

Great crowd in Tampa. Thank you to everyone who came out in the rain.
Somebody told me that Florida is a red state. It does not look like one today.
Together, we can take on Trump and the billionaire class and elect Angie Nixon to the Senate.

Joe Rogan: Why are you a Democrat?
@JamesTalarico: My mother met my birth father, who had a drinking problem that sometimes led to being violent. My mom decided right then and there that she was leaving. She found a little apartment in East Austin and worked double duty at a hotel to provide for us. She saw Texas Democrats like Ann Richards, people who fought for the little guy. That was the classic Democratic Party. I asked my mom what we were, and she was like, ‘We're Democrats, because Democrats fight for the people.’ Our historical legacy is the party that fights for the little guy. That's why I'm a Democrat.
It’s my baby brothers 18th birthday and he cracked splinter twin combo in his @wizards_magic reality fracture prerelease kit.
He’s pulled it off twice in two games.
What a legend.

It's literally 52 days until the election and if people are still debating messaging but can't tell you what a win number is take their advice with a grain of salt.
My team has exactly one open slot (it will go quick) for our ROI guarantee digital $ program. Looking for a strong progressive, ideally fed or statewide!

I called you a ghetto bitch, because you are, Angie, and your record proves it.
But, you speak Ebonics though, so maybe I need to bark at you and tug your leash and then you’ll finally understand.

LOL. @AVindman just unfollowed me.
Anyway, I encourage Florida Democrats to vote for @AngieNixon on August 18th.
Two weeks ago I had a conversation with the political director of a major veterans advocacy organization. We both agreed that Rachel Vindman would be a detriment to the Vindman campaign, and she is proving us right. Telling a Black woman to “buy some professional clothes and shoes” is wrong and racist enough, but Alex standing by his wife’s statement was the final nail.
I formally withdraw my support of @AVindman for U.S. Senate.
Hard pro-antitrust/FTC act enforcement needs to be our message. Winning at capitalism isn’t evil. Winning by cheating others is.
