It isn't a lie that FEMA has given millions of dollars to migrants. The lie is that the $$ is remotely relevant to its funding issues or disaster relief more broadly. As @Brian_Riedl has noted, the purported $640m FEMA spent on migrants is 0.009405% of the federal budget. FEMA has gotten $80 billion in single emergency aid bills. The funding that went to migrants and disaster relief funding are totally separate, unrelated budget processes. This is why it's gross to point to this as the reason for suffering in North Carolina. It's an attempt to direct people's anger at something that doesn't actually matter.
