Among patients who presented 24 - 72 hours after an acute ischemic stroke from large-vessel occlusion of the anterior circulation and had imaging-identified salvageable tissue, endovascular therapy resulted in better functional outcomes than standard care but led to a higher risk of intracranial hemorrhage and death (6.0% bs 1.8%) nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NE…

One diet for everyone? Science says otherwise. 🧬
In 2026, WHO reports 1.1 billion people living with obesity worldwide [1]. Meanwhile, a Nature study of 34,000+ people links gut microbes, diet, and metabolic health [2].
The shift is clear: personalized nutrition is moving from wellness trend to healthcare opportunity. 🚀
AI could accelerate this transition. The NIH's precision nutrition initiative targets 10,000 participants to study individual food responses [3].
For healthcare leaders, the challenge is turning biological insights into affordable, evidence-based solutions not premium products for a few.
🤔 Should personalized nutrition become a standard of preventive healthcare, or would that deepen existing health inequalities?

Updates to an FDA-approved colorectal cancer blood test increased the detection of advanced precancerous lesions, a new study showed.
“The updated test has improved performance, better detection of advanced precancerous lesions, resulting in larger projected reductions in CRC incidence and mortality at the population level,” said first author Aasma Shaukat, MD, MPH, of the NYU Grossman School of Medicine in New York City.
Although colonoscopy and stool-based testing continue to be recommended as first-line screening in American Cancer Society guidelines, “for patients who are unwilling or just will not proceed with screening, we can consider offering them a blood test,” said Shaukat, who presented the findings at the American College of Gastroenterology 2026 Annual Scientific Meeting.
