How can @MIT and President Kornbluth sit back and allow Kristin Knouse to remain on the MIT faculty when she has been found by a jury of her peers to have falsely accused him of rape, and intentionally destroyed his life and career with the help of co-conspirators in the MIT administration? How does this not violate MIT’s code of conduct? How can one continue to trust the research she produces? Why has MIT not immediately launched a formal investigation to reconsider the removal of @DMSabatini’s tenure and Knouse’s continued inclusion on the faculty? The evidence from the case is now in the public record. It is a straightforward process for MIT to review the facts. Justice must be served.

Saturated fat was supposed to clog your arteries. A brand new randomized trial just put that to the test. Researchers in Norway assigned 193 adults with obesity to one of three diets for up to 2 years. One was low-carb with about 30% of energy from saturated fat. That's 3 times the 10% cap in the Dietary Guidelines. The other two were higher-carb, guideline-style diets. On the high saturated fat diet, triglycerides dropped 20 to 35% and HDL rose 5 to 18%. On the higher-carb diets those stayed fairly flat. LDL went up 5 to 10%, mostly the large, buoyant particles. ApoB did not go up significantly. Small dense LDL did not go up significantly. And CT scans at 12 months showed no difference in coronary artery calcium between the diets. The lead researcher said the study "challenges the contention that a higher intake of saturated fat has an inherent negative impact of overall disease risk." The Study and my video below...

Not surprised. Their 2019 work that claimed bottom decile earners paid same/higher tax rates as billionaires calculated tax as % or income by excluding SNAP from the denominator but *including* taxes paid with SNAP in the numerator. This gave some low earners effective tax rates >100%. Saez and Zucman just excluded these people from the study to avoid raising eyebrows. They are over-credentialed frauds.

Outstanding coverage of a major scandal by @Sara_Talpos. A lucrative drug (Tavneos or avacopan) was approved based on trial data that was found to have been manipulated, its side effects can be deadly & it remains on the market in the US. Thanks @undarkmag for shining light on this while mainstream media have been mostly quiet. undark.org/2026/10/28/tavneo…
A small biotech called chemocentryx had a failed drug trial on their hands. So they tortured the data until they got a positive result and then submitted it to the FDA. Then never told the FDA about the data manipulation. The FDA approval lead to a lucrative exit for the manipulators to Amgen. The story came to light only because of a discovery process triggered by an SEC lawsuit and principled FDA director At the time : @TracyBethHoeg The media ecosystem that’s funded by pharma ignored the story. Hoeg was later forced to leave the FDA 🤔 The drug remains on the market. undark.org/2026/10/28/tavneo…

Tyler Cowen: 'I am not even sure what to say at this point. We need a radical revaluation of this work, and of the associated policy arguments. More generally, this is only a single step in the story of how AI is going to revise economic science, and indeed past research more generally. As I stress in many of my recent talks, there will be significant gains and losses in status, with the losses often outweighing the gains. I see this as one of those cases.'

This is the stuff of nightmares. This is why you cannot just “trust the science”. Don’t tell me that was decades ago. We have an Amgen drug which was approved by our FDA which has killed 8 people and was pulled in the EU and our agency does nothing. They fired the person trying to pull it from market here. The rot is still here.

Rant: Got last minute travel today, so won't be doing a Democracy Files drop today. But saw that the person at the center of the files posted about "unimaginable horrors." Let me tell you why I got interested in "democracy" in the first place. I've told this story many times, but here again: I was DOGE adjacent from the very beginning. I was recruited by several DOGE teams in January 2025, because I was excited about the opportunity to finally cut spending and taming the national debt. Bu then - Tesla Takedown protests happened. People got so worked up that they were firebombing innocent Tesla owners. A viral website with a Molotov cocktail cursor prominently featured my husband's address. I was doxxed in the middle of that, and forced to flee the state and homeschool my children. That's when I started researching and writing UNELECTED. I quickly found the groups organizing and funding the civil unrest were all about "democracy." It made no sense to me. DOGE wasn't overturning elections. They were cutting obviously silly awards - given our national deficit, who would object to that? Silly me! Turns out "democracy" means diffused rule by unelected people, and all that USAID money going to marginalized groups to build a "civil society" is the foundation of that. So the immune system of "civil unrest" can be activated anytime, and terrorize anyone who dares to step out of line. Such as DOGE employees. Such as me and my family. That research trail led me all the way to DemAID (now DRG), a group of ex-USAID officers. Led by you and Ro Tucci. @iamlisalogan and @SKDoubleDub33 found DemAID on video taking credit for these protests. But this isn't about me. This is about the United States. And about the dozens of countries wrecked by color revolutions. You aren't solving polarization. You are the source of polarization, because in the process of building "civil society," you are displacing people's inborn allegiances and training them up to attack the very foundations a nation are founded upon. Nor is this about revenge or anger. I'm calling on everyone to pray that no more damage is done, and that we can find a path forward that preserves our Constitutional Republic.

I love these kinds of posts from Admin opponents because you never refer to what the losses have been. How about wins: 1. Termination of Independent Agency Members. 2. RIF of federal work force. 3. Elimination of USAID and sig reduction in NGO expenditures. 4. Ending TSP 5. Initiating third country removals without further court proceedings. 6. Limiting nationwide injunctions. 7. Getting issue of indefinite detention for removal purposes to SCOTUS through split in circuits, where 6 Justice majority likely sides with Admin. 8. Removing transgender personnel from military based on fitness to serve requirements. 9. Beginning to curb "esthetic" injury as a basis for environmental actions. 10. Eliminating barriers to coordinated spending between candidates and parties on 1st Amendment grounds. 11. Curbing the level of refugee admissions due to illegal immigration, and reducing the funding of refugee resettlement services that only encouraged greater levels of dubious refugee claims. 12. Mass removal of MS-13 and Tren de Aragua gang members. 13. Eliminated DEI mandates across the bureaucracy. 14. Ending funding for DEI programs across the country. 15. Eliminating Title IX extension to cover trans participants in athletics. 16. Beating back efforts from various states to impose operational restrictions on ICE. There are probably 10 more if I want to keep researching.
Never in the history of DOJ has anyone witnessed the brutal loses that Trump's DOJ has racked up in such a brief period of time. Rather than getting tired of all the winning, as Trump promised, he has literally destroyed a once great institution. No surprise. Look at his history.

For years I asked two questions nobody could answer. If my cholesterol was 110 when I had my cardiac event at 52, why did my arteries fill with plaque. And why do some people smoke and eat garbage and live to 90 while I ate clean and exercised and ended up in Stamford Hospital fighting for my life. I spent six years reading the studies they never cited. Testing the markers they never ordered. Mapping my own genetics. Tracking two hundred biomarkers across twelve readings. What I found was a complete mechanism of heart disease that has nothing to do with your LDL number. A mechanism that starts with a shield your doctor has never measured. That is driven by insulin resistance nobody tested. Fueled by seed oils nobody questioned. Enabled by a defense system that was sabotaged. Sustained by chronic inflammation nobody connected to the arterial wall. And accelerated by genetics that determine who breaks first. The science was there the entire time. It was silenced. This thread is the full story. Every step. Every study. Every image. And at the end I will show you how the body heals. 🧵

I've been pointing out since the early 2010s that Thomas Piketty, Emmanuel Saez, and Gabriel Zucman have a bad habit of biasing their data construction to fit their politics. Whenever they make a suspect call in how to handle stats, it ends up showing that inequality is on the rise. They almost never go in the other direction. The errors are non-random and almost invariably reinforce their political claims about rising income and wealth concentration since 1980. Piketty did this throughout his book Capital in the 21st Century. Piketty and Saez did this throughout their famous 2003 paper on inequality in the US. Piketty, Saez, and Zucman Saez and Zucman did this in their Distributional National Accounts paper that Auten and Splinter dissected. Saez and Zucman did this in their 2019 book on tax incidence and inequality. Saez and Zucman did this in their flurry of "studies" and white papers to support Elizabeth Warren's wealth tax proposal, California Prop 40, a new wealth tax in France, and dozens of other similar examples. A new AI report (linked below) audited 138 papers by Saez and Zucman. It found thousands of errors, 194 of which were serious. A whopping 97% of the serious errors went in the same direction: they showed inequality rising faster or made it higher. But there's a bigger scandal at play here. Despite these clear biases, Piketty, Saez, and Zucman have enjoyed a stream of praise and prestige within the economics profession. They get expedited and friendly reviews in top econ journals even though a more serious peer review should have caught many of these errors (the Quarterly Journal of Economics is a recurring offender in this regard). Journals regularly give them a pass after the errors in their old work come to light - they're never expected to correct any of it, and just keep on using it as if nothing changed. Their non-peer reviewed data claims are also treated as gospel by major media outlets such as the New York Times and the Washington Post. And they get showered with prizes - Saez and Zucman are both Clark Medal winners from the AEA, and Zucman got his prize in 2023 after evidence of major data shenanigans in his work came to light in 2019. Until now, those of us who have been trying to correct the record have had to wade through the PSZ trio's cluttered, disorganized, and often non-transparent replication packages (almost all of which are convoluted piles of Excel spreadsheets) to find the problems. I did a line-by-line replication of Piketty and Saez's entire 2003 US income inequality series to use one example, and found it was riddled with errors - almost every single one of which biased their results in favor of their political story. We had the means to catch this stuff as it was happening, but the economics profession failed to do its job. And it failed precisely because its elite ranks wanted to believe the Piketty-Saez-Zucman story for political reasons.

Bloomberg: "A new anxiety is gripping Wall Street as it bankrolls the vast network of data centers and chips behind the artificial intelligence boom: Early signs suggest that the credit market is approaching the limits of how much more debt it can absorb. One after another, yields are soaring into the double digits on bonds and loans funding the AI infrastructure buildout. Bankers are finding it more difficult to offload risk to insurers and other investors." #economy #markets #debt #ai #ArtificialIntelligence #bonds

META may be new to the negative cash flow club, but not GOOGL: free cash flow was negative for a second straight quarter, -$9.1bn vs -$3.5bn consensus. Trailing-12-month FCF collapsed 73% to $19.7bn, from $73.6bn a year ago.
GOOGL Capex rose 114% y/y to $51.4bn (below est $55.8bn). But operating cash flow fell 13% y/y to $42.3bn, far short of the $53.9bn consensus, so the capex 'miss' did not help free cash flow.

During the pandemic, I started out fearing COVID. But I ended up fearing people. As the lockdowns continued, I realised something terrifying. A significant proportion of the public seemed to have stopped thinking for themselves. They weren’t asking whether the rules made sense or whether the evidence supported them. They just wanted to be told what to do. And it wasn’t necessarily safety that reassured them. It was obedience itself. 🧵1/4

Please read. Share and educate people on how “tenent protections” ultimately hurt low income people when their bldgs fall into disrepair and bankruptcy.
wild ruling out of Seattle that @PHLCouncil needs to read. a builder put $39M into 254 low-income apartments locked at 60% AMI for 30 years. from 2015 to 2018 it worked, collecting ~94% of rent. then Seattle stacked on "tenant protections": banned criminal background checks, banned winter evictions, required 180 days notice for rent hikes + 3 months relocation pay, and forced the owner to let unscreened roommates move in and take over leases. result: rent collections dropped from 93.9% to 44.1%!!! the building lost nearly $6M through 2023 ($2.7M in 2023 alone) and is now appraised as functionally worthless. the city bankrupted actual affordable housing lol. the appeals court just ruled the owner can sue Seattle for an unconstitutional taking. when you strip a landlord's right to screen, collect rent or remove non-paying tenants, it's not "regulation" anymore, you took the building…. Philly has half these laws already 🙄 courts.wa.gov/opinions/pdf/8…

Wow. That’s quite a haircut
Downtown Minneapolis just took a MASSIVE hit... The Royal Sonesta, an upscale 360 room hotel, just sold for just $5M - a BRUTAL 93% 'discount' from its $75M purchase price in 2018 That's just ~$14K per room, down from ~$208K just 8 years ago... Here's the interesting part: The location is genuinely prime by downtown Minneapolis standards It's an upscale, 4-star property in the HEART of DT Minneapolis, steps from Nicollet Mall and connected to the city's skyway system It's genuinely WILD seeing hotels like this being sold at 90%+ discounts, even knowing what's driving these sales... What does the future hold for Minneapolis? Stay tuned and follow for more commercial real estate deals trading at massive discounts

BREAKING: DHS announces via federal register that Secretary Mullin is closing a Biden-era loophole that allowed Chinese nationals to travel to the Northern Mariana Islands without a visa for 14 days, which four GOP Senators alleged was facilitating Chinese birth tourism. Senators @SenMikeLee, @votetimscott, @SenBillCassidy, & @JohnCornyn had written a letter to Mullin in April, urging him to close the loophole, which Mullin has now done. Via the notice: “The Secretary has broad authority to suspend the program for good cause, including threats to national security, law enforcement interests, and immigration enforcement. The Secretary has determined that there is good cause to suspend EVS- TAP, while DHS, in consultation with the Secretary of State and the Secretary of the Interior, evaluates the program.”
