Nov 10 2021: Danielle Smith said that political leaders had "ruined" the Remembrance Day poppy for her because of pandemic public health rules. In the same conversation, she compared vaccinated Canadians to followers of Adolf Hitler in Nazi Germany. #ABPoli #LestWeForget
Two great stops this week with UCP members. Started in Innisfail-Sylvan Lake with MLA Devin Dreeshen @DevinDVote, then headed to Drayton Valley-Devon to join MLA Andrew Boitchenko @AndrewBoitchenk. Great rooms both times, full of members who give up their evenings and weekends because they care about where this province is going. These folks are the backbone of our movement. Thank you to Devin, Andrew and every volunteer who made these events happen. Let's keep building.

Danielle Smith acolyte confirms that First Past The Post does not evenly match seats to popular vote, but thinks answer is to dilute troublesome progressive ridings. Peter, give your old boss Preston Manning a call. His Premier Daddy gave Alberta this system. #ableg
Again: In 2023, the UCP won 53% to 44%. But had it been just 1% different (UCP 52% to NDP 45%), the NDP would have won. So under the current boundaries, the NDP can win with just 45% of the vote! This is because drawing ridings along municipal boundaries packs conservatives into fewer rural ridings and artificially makes the NDP more competitive in the cities. Removing an existing gerrymander is not gerrymandering. Now, if the UCP went far further, and made it so that the UCP would win even if they only got 45% while the NDP got 52%, then yes that absolutely would be gerrymandering. But that’s not what’s happening here.

.@ABDanielleSmith it is interesting that now Jeff Rath is inconvenient and unworthy of a UCP membership, yet few months ago you text messaged him and guided him on how to achieve his separatist agenda. Separatist MLAs are OK because you need your slim majority. #ableg

If my calculations are correct, I’ll get a $5.00 credit for my 2027 education tax. Whoopee, after a 13% increase in 2026! @JasonNixonAB couldn’t come up with a decent plan to save his soul! How are these clowns still in government?
How stupid do you think we are? You raise education tax by 20% and then make it look like you’re going us a f*ng favor??? I’ll be so happy to see your sorry ass leave!

Chief Electoral Officer McClure on pg. 3 recommends the Legislature consider approving one of two possible approaches. Not gonna lie...approach #2 can not stand. Extending the term of this horrible UCP government to implement gerrymandered electoral maps is 100% wrong. #abpoli

Canadian here America. You allow trillionaires to spend almost a billion dollars to influence your elections in your own country? And Hoekstra is trying to blame Canada? Is this a joke?

@ABDanielleSmith needs gerrymandering to win the next election. She needs the time to reinvent herself…slither out of the snakeskin once again. She’ll grab onto Election AB’s option to delay the election…again. May/28 Here’s hoping the law gets her first. @UCPCaucus

This is insanity. Danielle Smith’s refusal to accept the original electoral boundaries so she could try and gerrymander the election has EA saying they don’t have enough time with any new boundaries. Smith continues to put herself first and Albertans last.

It’s not a tax break. Danielle Smith is extending her property tax hike to 2030. Or as @DonBraid put it: “Fiscal abuse…(The UCP) believe they can bang taxpayers over the head for years, and then make it all better with an ice pack.” #ableg #cdnpoli calgaryherald.com/opinion/co…

Govt booting @JeffreyRWRath for conduct breaches. Is @DevinDVote gone for “day drinking” in the Leg? @EricBouchardAB for holding town halls for misinformation? @DaleNally_AB for illegally accessing voter records? @ABDanielleSmith for lying, fraud, corruption? @UCPCaucus

Fun fact… The UCP code of conduct explicitly states no one can… “be reprimanded or disciplined by the Party, the UCA Board or CA Board for exercising their freedom of expression unless such expression constitutes an offence under the Criminal Code of Canada” #abpoli #ableg #cdnpoli

Jason Kenney put the post-secondary budget… THEN TOLD THE SCHOOLS TO MAKE UP THE DIFFERENCE WITH INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS!!!!!!
Jason Kenney is complaining about an influx in international students after cutting funding to post-secondary institutions in his own province by hundreds of millions of dollars.

Absolutely hilarious. Courting him and his minions until after the referendum. Now launching him into the sun to try and save herself. After having changed the rules 3X for him. Having two options as a question. We see you Premier. We know who you are.

Traditionally conservative governments were known for less government not more but Danielle Smith is trying to legislate every aspect of our lives to distract us from what she’s actually doing. Alberta BEWARE!
I have never seen a more interventionist government. A horde of incompetents who want to manage every aspect of life.

While the UCP ignore critical needs like building schools, hospitals, & addressing affordability, suddenly they have a new priority nobody wants : standardized report card Theses are not a priority for parents or teachers & will do nothing to improve class sizes or complexity.

I am non-partisan. The Notley NDP government was by every measure the most competent, effective, honest provincial government Alberta had since the Lougheed era. Forget your partisan mythology, vote rationally for capable, honest people committed to public service #abpoli
How many times have I heard “I voted for Danielle Smith because I couldn’t vote ndp.” Well, look where that got us.

I hear this was disastrous policy in the 1970’s and made voters angry AF after the first winter; enough that Richard Nixon reversed it after a single year. Maybe it’ll give the UCP another bad UCP policy to run on reversing.
Alberta Time is here! ☀️ Starting this weekend, we’re moving to permanent daylight time. No more changing the clocks twice a year. More evening sunshine, less hassle, and one consistent time year-round!
