Replying to @sugabaddie
It looks beautiful and artistic, probably the best looking scripting language I've seen

#Ndebe #NdebeScript @sugabaddie I tried!! 🤣🤣🤣

Reminder that we have a modern Igbo writing script called @ndebescript and you should try it out. My first thought was it was Hangul but even my uneducated eye can now tell the difference. One wonders if the English alphabets constrains one from writing other languages.

Testing out a new set of vigesimal (base 20) numbers for Ndebe script. The original Igbo number system was Base 20, and I really wanted to keep that. First step is making sure it’s not cumbersome to write even up to very high numbers. Next, I’ll tackle mathematical operations.

For today’s Igbo writing practice, I transcribed the lovely letter @eldivine wrote me last year in Ndebe script. I made a few edits and spelling corrections (he wrote it within an hour of finding out about Ndebe which is damn impressive), but the feeling remains. ☺️

• Ódìn’áká • #NdebeScript (using x in ná & stress marker after ná ) @ndebescript : “because Odinaka is actually O di na aka being shortened to O di n’aka, on the Na syllable you should change the dots to x to show it’s hiding a vowel, and also use the stress marker”
