This is what we are building here in the Rose Caucus. Our goal is to transform the NDP into a strong, member-led political alternative that fights alongside social movements for the needs of working-class people and marginalized communities. Join us: rosecaucus.ca/
I wrote about how the Left should relate to a Lewis-led NDP alongside some brilliant organizers. We can't underestimate the forces we're up against. We must build power both inside and outside the party to advance a socialist agenda. xitter.cf/TheBreachMedia/status/…

There is a consistent theme with conservative parties winning majority governments built on low overall voter turnout. When the governing neoliberal party is vapid and unaccomplished people stay home.
The @Conservative_BC actually received 50,000 fewer votes than in 2024 (but won 20 more seats) because the @bcndp vote dropped by 275.000 (29%) while the @BCGreens got 23,000 more votes than last time (+13%) - still some ballots to be counted.

This clown shouldn’t have been leader to begin with, the party had to screw over a grassroots candidate in 2022 to coronate him. Great piece on that here from @TheBreachMedia: breachmedia.ca/how-the-ndp-e…
"I'll be offering my resignation as premier. Obviously." @Dave_Eby confirms he is stepping down as Premier and BC NDP leader following his election loss to @LDoerkson's BC Conservatives.

An NDP government will nationalize BioWare and make Mass Effect 5 free for everyone
This is private equity, this is what it does. Buy up businesses, run them into the ground, and rip them apart for short-term profit. The developers at BioWare know how to run the studio. They know how to make the games we all love. They should be given the first opportunity - and the federal support - to buy it and run it themselves. And if we want to avoid the Mass Effect effect in Canada, we should be keeping private equity out, not welcoming it in. pcgamer.com/gaming-industry/…

David Eby has upset much of his left flank over backsliding on issues like climate, DRIPA and decriminalization. Many have turned to the Greens as a result, and now he is begging them to come back. The BC NDP needs to make real changes if they want to avoid this moving forward.
Supporters of the BC NDP and the Green Party share a lot of the same values. Strong public health care, protecting the place we call home, and asking the wealthiest to chip in more to build a stronger B.C. That’s why we're asking for your support and your vote to stop Conservative cuts, higher costs and chaos. If we stand together, we can build B.C. strong.

This would also not be an issue if David Eby hadn’t botched the last PR referendum and dismissed implementing it now. We do not want the Conservatives to win, but it is hard to view this desperate situation as anything other than the result of Eby and the BC NDP’s own failures.

What a slap in the face to Heather McPherson and the voters in Edmonton—Strathcona who Nenshi *also* represents. You can take a different position than the federal party without attacking your own constituents.
I asked @nenshi how he can champion pipelines when federal NDP Leader @avilewis is against new ones. Nenshi: "I don't want to be unkind, but the federal NDP is really not relevant in Alberta. Nobody talks about them, nobody worries about them." 🎧 podcasts.apple.com/us/podcas…

It should be illegal for Israel’s top arms producer to purchase a Canadian company. Elbit Systems is complicit in the genocide of Palestinians. Cancel the Canada-Israel Free Trade Agreement, enact sanctions and a two-way arms embargo now.

The BC NDP’s Mable Elmore was once a socialist anti-war labour organizer. Now, she is endorsing the Mayor who has waged war on the poor, eliminated Vancouver's living wage policy, spread lies about his colleague, and much more. How far Mable has fallen. Shame. #vanpoli #bcpoli

Will David Eby drop the BC NDP candidate in Vancouver-Kensington? East Vancouver deserves real left-wing representation, and Mable Elmore does not provide that. Conservatives are not welcome in the New Democratic Party.

Stelco workers in Hamilton are being laid off *right now*. They can’t afford to wait through a years-long court battle, and neither can our steel industry. We have to act now to protect Canadian jobs and assert public control in this strategic sector — for our sovereignty and economic security. That means nationalizing Stelco.
Mélanie Joly on taking Stelco to court: "We've hired the best lawyers in Canada to help us to deal with that, and we will fight to keep the jobs in Hamilton."

Canada cannot afford to lose its steel industry. It's time to nationalize Stelco. Stelco’s American owners have broken their commitments. Their CEO supports Trump’s tariffs, which are designed to deindustrialize our economy and destroy our manufacturing base. More than 500 workers in Hamilton are facing layoffs. If we’re serious about saving these jobs and the Canadian steel industry, Canada must nationalize Stelco. Read my full statement here: ndp.ca/news/ndp-leader-prime…

“We cannot continue to expand fossil fuel infrastructure and hit our climate goals.” - David Eby, 2022.
Today, alongside the Prime Minister, we secured the largest private sector investment in Canadian history. LNG Canada Phase 2 has the final green light, right here in B.C. Up to 4,000 construction jobs, billions in contracts for businesses across the province, and an estimated $50 billion in revenue for the hospitals and schools British Columbians rely on. Some of the lowest-emission LNG in the world, and Germany, Japan and Australia are lining up to buy it. This is what happens when B.C., Ottawa and First Nations work together. Canada and B.C. are the right partners at the right time. We're seeing real momentum, and the job isn't done. Let's keep building B.C. strong.

BREAKING: Liberal MP Sean Casey was removed from his role as Parliamentary Secretary for supporting NDP MP Jenny Kwan’s bill to close a loophole in Canada’s arms sales regime that allows weapons to be shipped via the United States to Israel, a country that is still committing genocide against the Palestinian people. It is shocking that Prime Minister Carney decided to change Liberal policy and punish one of his MPs for the simple act of wanting Canada to adhere to the values he touts so confidently on the world stage. We want to thank MP Casey for having had the moral courage to support our bill. Ensuring that Canada is not complicit in war crimes should never be partisan.

This would have been an excellent time for the Prime Minister aspiring to lead a coalition of middle powers to say: “Canada does not believe that threats of annihilation are acceptable. Period.”
Reporter: But do you think that Mr. Trump goes too far when he says he is considering destroying Iran? Mark Carney: Well, there is a war underway, and he's speaking the language of war.

Avi Lewis: "Mark Carney is basically asking us all to trust him that we're going to double down on the most profitable corporations and sectors to build even more corporate profits. And somehow this time, unlike all the previous times, it's going to trickle down, lift all boats and benefit us all. There is zero evidence that that's how it works."

Canadian Jews and Jews around the world are not collectively responsible for the genocide in Gaza, but you certainly are.
Holding Canadian Jews and Jews across the world collectively responsible for events over which they have no control is despicable.
