My dream is for Africa to become the most technologically advanced continent in my lifetime 🙌! It will take a good educational foundation to get there 💪! With @Eazi_Code, we’re just getting started 🔥🔥🔥!
7:23am, 1 July 2024, she asked if I was a motivational speaker. Today she's traveling with me to watch me give a motivational speech to the @Eazi_Code students, as my wife 💍.
Total cost of 3 month bootcamp was +R100k. We've done it for free for our students. Also secured prizes such as laptops and tablets for the students. Very excited for today 💪! #codeTodayLeadTomorrow #coding #development #learning
Of late, JHB has not been kind to a brother 😬.
The flue took me out for 3 days last week, this week a stomach ache is threatening to take me out the rest of the week…apparently I was never meant to use the water here for consumption….on the rare days it was available. Got deadlines I can’t move out so will likely have to power through…much respect for people that survive and thrive here….I on the other hand umm…😅
Sometimes I lament that AI has taken parts of being a sfw engineer I really enjoyed….then there are days like tonight, 3 deliverables from 3 distinct areas of my life….I’ve been swapping between chatGPT and Claude to achieve in the last 2hrs, things which would have needed at least 3 days….all whilst in a car parking lot whilst partner is running errands.
I naively and optimistically hope that AI, long term allows us to free up time to spend with our loved ones doing things we inherently love. I’m calling it a night now….2years ago I would have continued working till 4am.
Redbull, 1 product I intentionally take here and there, but I’m conscious of its high caffeine and sugar content…Just that, it’s super effective! On days I need it, 1 can give me 3–4 hours of focused productivity. Works better for me than coffee or even taking a cold shower.
People who’ve stopped drinking Red Bull, have you found any healthier alternatives?

4 years living in CPT after 6 in Joburg and up till now still not used to people driving in the fast lane at 80 and it being normal.
It’s like part of the driving culture of the city….just no sense of urgency ever 😬
I just want to say thank you to every motorist in Gauteng. Thank you for driving properly, for feeling my energy when I needed to get past and moving over for me.
Capetonians should be legally obligated to spend a month here per year to learn the Gauteng ways.
I also think I might now hold the world land-speed record for Suzuki Swifts at high altitude. What an exhilarating drive this morning.
I’ve flown up to film the VCSA Spring Auction for @CarsSouthAfrica at their incredible new venue in Centurion.
Pull in if you can! Entrance is free, it’s going to be epic. 11-3pm, all details on their website, download the auction catalogue to see what’s going under the hammer 🏁
Winners of AI race will be the platform holders.
As a daily user of Anthropic and OpenAI models...I'm surprised they've survived this long and are doing this well....but I'm a tech person.
The average person will end up just using the AI tool embedded in their existing software...

It’s actually astonishing 😂 The last time I visited Zim, I came abroad and told my friends that, from what I had seen, the country was slowly progressing compared to when I left. A good number of people seemed to be doing well for themselves, and some of the roads were genuinely in good condition.
The backlash I got was something else! 😂 People came up with all sorts of theories, you’d swear I had committed a national offence by saying something positive about Zim. I honestly don’t know whether it’s self-hate, deep-rooted disappointment or whether some people have been hurt by the country one too many times.
But it almost feels like some people would rather see Zim fail than admit that even a little progress is happening. Surely we can acknowledge the problems without pretending that absolutely nothing good is happening? We can criticise our country and still give credit where it’s due! 🇿🇼

VanaWeZhira! You are gonna LOVE the Masvingo store. The team is pushing … almost ready to serve you!
Absolute nonsense. Zim has enough talented and experienced devs to build a payment platform of this nature. I know and have worked with a few that could successfully architect, build, deploy and maintain a system like this. You just need to find the right people.
Do I need this new Mac….no. Do I absolutely want it…yes. Touchscreen, new design, the glowing logo…looks pretty cool….maybe next year. Glad to see Apple being a bit more adventurous with hardware again 💪!

Activity on X is just tip of the iceberg brother....I'm here mostly for the vibes.
By God's grace, underneath, its been 12+ years building relentlessly: Cum laude software engineering degree, best tech startup award at University of Pretoria - 2 years running...got attention of Y-Combinator: Silicon valley based incubator - interview with Michael Siebel - Sam Altman's replacement CEO, tech lead and architect on healthness platform...50+mill rand processed monthly, tech lead on Vodacom's Vodapay superapp...13+ million users, engineering deputy director of silicon based startup with global footprint processing terabytes of big data daily...now fulltime rapidev director + software dev manager...
So yes brother, ignore the noise here on X, I'm a passionate techie. Got any software ideas you want to bring to life, my team at Rapidev will do it for you. Enterprise grade software at affordable rates + speed is part of our name and DNA. I'll even negotiate an "we met on X" discount just for you 😅.
@NNyashaYessur this is what never working a day in one's life looks like 😂😂😂
Week 1 Summary: going much better than expected. However, still not convinced I’ll stay on iOS longterm yet. Very specific dealbreakers for me: multitasking and lack of specific widgets. Software, performance and camera are great though, and I understand why people love their iphones 💪.
The Good
- Android to iOS switch app: 80% smooth, could be better
- Animations: great, software feels alive and dynamic
- Working well with my mac: hotspotting is seamless, syncing of contacts + passwords, shared clipboard is just magical!!!
- Battery is waaay better than my s23+, but obviously my s23+ was 2 years older, so expected
- The camera is amazing!
- Performance: apps open and close faster and smoother. I only noticed this when I used my S23+ after a few days with the iphone.
- Airdrop is very convinient and super fast, used to have to whatsapp myself things to share.
The Bad
- Samsung fingerprint unlock is faster than face ID, also works in the dark places. Also can unlock the device without looking at it, faster tap to pay.
- Samsung ecosystem devices
* Samsung watch → does not work at all with iphone. I wear it occasionally, so will be fine.
* Samsung buds → cant track battery level. However, can use samsung find on web. Might buy aipods soon though.
* Samsung ring….ummm, no, dont own one. Wasnt married to the ecosystem like that 😅.
The Ugly/Potential deal breakers
- Widgets
* No google keep
* Google calendar: small widget, I had a full screen one on a homepage for past 10years! Tracks appointments across 3 email addresses
- Use of space: I can't do 5 apps in a row on the homescreen. That is wiiiild to me, considering I can do 6 on my android, which had a smaller screen.
- Multitasking: I had gotten to a point where I used this daily on my android. Had app pairs I had saved together.
- Notifications: stay in the notifications center even after I've addressed them in apps. Android just does it better.
Fun adventure so far, will see how the full month goes!
Finally got the 18 Pro Max....and ummm, immediately gave it to my wife! Husband pro maxxxing....etc 😂.
Thought long and hard about it. I'm not willing to fully commit to iOS yet, and I already have an iPhone user in the house who'd be very happy with the new device.
I've now gotten her 16 Pro Max and will be using it as my daily driver for at least the next 3 months to see if it works well for me. If it does, I might then get the 19 next year (I hear it will have a new design). If not, I'll gladly run back to Samsung....also hear that the S27 series, coming out in Jan next year, will have new designs and potentially silicon carbide batteries.
So let's see how it goes. I'm excited but a little nervous. My last attempt at iOS was with the 15 Pro Max 2 years ago, but I never made it my main phone like I want to do with the 16. Will give regular updates on how it goes. I use my devices mainly for productivity (comms: email, slack, teams, whatsapp, phone calls, hotspot for my mac) and entertainment (social media + YouTube + taking pics here and there)...so I'll give feedback on how well it's going for me!
For any Android users on the fence, feel free to ask me any questions you might have, and I'll see if I can answer them from my experience.
iOS, here I come!!!
Anyway, that Suzuki video remains the GREATEST birthday gift I’ve ever received 😅😂.
The car is decent, pretty much driving for free….but the video concept is top notch. The comments section on both IG and TikTok have kept me laughing these past few months. The Mrs cooked 🔥.

Another week, another review of a car that I own...(you didnt ask for, but you're getting anyway cc @Her_PrettyMind 😅)
Ok,very long story for another day, but the Range has been in for repairs for past 3 months, human error, finally came back today 🎉.
'Courtesy of my wife', got a Suzuki Celerio to use...thus been alternating between the highest spec 3.6L 6 Cylinder Porsche Cayenne and an entry level 1L 3 Cylinder Suzuki Celerio for a while now. Likely the only person in the world who can give this comparison, so here goes...😂
Pros
- Its a car. It gets you from point A to point B.
- Its almost like driving for free. For city driving, which is 95% of my weekly driving, fuel costs are roughly 1/5 of the Porsche. Uninterrupted highway driving, they are surprisingly actually comparable.
- Manual transmission, manual windows, no radio, no touchscreen or navigation...driving to any destination feels like a real achievement
- General maintenance is dirt cheap
- Very tiny, easy to navigate in tight streets and small parking spots. Tiny turning circle
- Not worried about anyone scratching it/damaging it when driving around...with the Porsche you worry a bit about it getting any form of damage due to repair costs. Celerio, you drive with complete peace of mind
- Its down to earth, both literally and metaphorically....keeps you humble and grounded 🙃
Cons
- Its too entry level. Manual transmission, manual windows, no entertainment...hard to live with
- Feels a bit unstable/unsafe during CPT's strong winds at times
- Very slow, 0-100 in +-15 seconds compared to Porsche’s 5 seconds. But its a Celerio, typical owners dont really care about this
And thats it. Its a car, you can drive it and get to a destination, no drama.
Verdict: Owning a car in most instances is still quite an achievement, allows you freedom to go places. Celerio reminds you of this fundamental fact. With the low fuel costs, you sometimes end up going to places you wouldnt have gone before. Mrs and I have gone on a few adventures we wouldnt have been able to justify with either the Porsche or Range. However, this entry level version is a bit difficult to live with. For a 2022 car, Suzuki stripped away too many creature comforts that we've all become used to. A higher specced version (automatic transmission, electric windows, apple car play and android auto, speaker system, parking assistance cameras) does exist, and would make a great first vehicle for most people. Personally, this vehicle is a bit too small and too slow for my liking. My first vehicle (review coming next week...maybe) had a 2L turbo, 0-100 in 6.9 seconds, and any vehicle that doesnt match this has felt a bit too slow for me....but thats me, I'm into cars, so in the minority. Definitely check out the IG video of my wife giving me the Celerio though, 580k views, 28k likes, and comment section has given me life...lol...🧵
Don’t we all love a thoughtful wifey….😅😂
Suzuki for the win 💪!

Won 36-33 in the end...but 2nd half performance was sub-par. Also seems like a key man dependency on captain, team broke down after his substitution. Alot of work to do ahead of nations cup and world cup next year....but we are fully behind you gents 💪👏!
Guys, at this rate the @ZimRugbyZW sables are bringing it home next year right 🔥🔥🔥💪💪💪! This is epic so far.
