I left New York just after we shot this video, looking for answers to my own ennui while knowing what everyone says: wherever you go, there you are.
I left with the hope that an open heart, receptive to the vast opportunity of the world, meant that something of note would intersect with my potential. That love or purpose or place would make clear the undeniable next steps.
This has not happened. Like a story folding in on itself, and back out again, I am back in France, pulling back up to London, and then to New York again on the same reversed path where this petit odyssey began in the spring.
Out of the blue this week, @Suffoca sends me this small section of video from our time together he can't stop thinking about, from when we were shooting with @Solana.
How startling to have my own voice remind me that:
The body of work of your life compounds.
The clarity I have been seeking, coming up from cycles I thought already rotated through.
The resilience of our lives never stops surfacing, the cycles may be super, but they often return us to our truest qualities, our purest pleasures, our undeniable gifts. We are a museum of everything we have ever loved, we are the sum of all of our parts.
I can promise you, that all of your training and capacity, as disparate and strange as it may be, feeds what comes next, if you can just get back to the source.
I can sense old tricks in the next turning.
