Really impressed with our ride on @Etihad_Rail over the weekend! Very smooth 55min journey from #Dubai to #AbuDhabi with a nice little continental breakfast box and coffee. Will certainly use it again! 🇦🇪
Deaths from floods and storms have fallen thanks to early warning systems and better infrastructure, but heat mortality is rising. The 2023 European heat waves alone killed an estimated 60,000. Leaving heat out of the chart makes it misleading, not evidence.
The chart lying crank @latimeralder uses to claim people are safer from climate risks than ever is utter crank nonsense
It says around 10-20K died of climate related disasters in the 2020’s
60K died in the heat waves of 2023 & 40K this year in Europe
He’s lying. It’s going up.

Replying to @EBarsingerhorn
Nobody said it was new news, it’s just information and obviously people found it interesting.
Terrible news. An elevated road might save a few minutes but those trees cool the air and filter dust every single day. Poor trade. I hope the locals make some noise before the axes come out. #Noida
Looking at the wonderful trees from rajnigandha chowk to 12-22 noida! Sab kat jaenge, thanks to @noida_authority @CeoNoida because of another stupid proposal of elevated road! Our reps not bothered! Also people not bothered! पेड़ ही तो हैं, क्या फर्क पड़ता है, कट गए तो!

Climate change brings more frequent & more intense storms.
More frequent & more intense heat waves.
Yet we are told net zero is the biggest threat to power supply.
Clearly it’s not. That would reduce the increasing incidence of this.
Argue with reality climate cranks.
I prefer to judge people by how they treat their neighbours, not by numbers pulled from 14 centuries of history. Posts like this divide rather than inform, and that's not something worth sharing.

Simple, practical steps that every builder and contractor must follow to contain construction dust. A valuable resource for RWAs to spread awareness and help keep our neighbourhoods clean.

Gurugram, are we tired of coughing yet?
Industries, road dust and local building sites are polluting our air daily.
Every construction site must follow these five steps:
• Put up tall boundary screens
• Spray water regularly to settle dust
• Cover all stored sand and soil
• Use tight covers on loaded transport trucks
• Dump waste only at safe, legal spots
Clean air is a shared duty. Let us hold rule-breakers accountable.

Interesting chart, but I'd add some context. The decline is driven largely by reduced savanna burning in Africa, not healthier forests. From what I've observed, extreme fires in boreal and temperate forests are increasing. Both datasets matter.

Electric Elliot (formally Everything Electric China), covers hydrogen failing in Japan. If this isn’t the wake up call for those waiting for hydrogen to power cars, nothing will convince them despite Toyota admitting defeat 👇
The video starts with a BYD Kei car, but it’s a great watch.

Agreed the data points to accelerating warming and real tipping point risks. No fan of doom though. Renewable electricity and battery storage are expanding rapidly, which gives me hope, though we are still far below the speed needed.
1. We are at 1.5C
2. Temperatures rose by 0.4C in the last decade
3. We will therefore hit 2C around 2036/2037
4. At 2C we will trigger the earth's carbon feedback systems and so further temperature increases will be unstoppable and billions of people will die as we pass 3C.
There is only one way out - revolutions to force governments to create legally binding national assemblies made up of ordinary citizens selected randomly from the population to consider these facts, decide on policies to slash emissions to zero, and to give political legitimacy to these decisions by them having been made "by the people" - i.e., in the true sense of REAL DEMOCRACY.

Well put by @ProfBillMcGuire - exceeding 1.5C above pre-industrial levels is “going through a set of one-way doors to another world”
#FOTW Daily Post 19
1.5C equates to key tipping points such as the loss of the Greenland Ice Sheet that, once crossed, won't reverse on any human timescale.
1.5C isn't a slogan. It's a set of one-way doors to another world
Now shut behind us

Ever wondered why an ICE car is so expensive to run?
Because most of the fuel you spend £££’s on to fill the tank just goes up in smoke and the energy is just rejected.
Only an idiot would do that when there is an alternative.
EVs are much more efficient & cheaper to run.

Fascinating data. One model at €29,990 taking a third of all PHEV sales shows price is the deciding factor. I expect BEVs will need that kind of price point before the 4% line moves.
🇭🇷 Croatia - September 26 - BEV Trajectory
3.5% BEV
14.2% PHEV
82.3% ICE (of which 41.4%p were HEV)
Trailing 12 months are:
4.2% BEV
7.1% PHEV
88.8% ICE (of which 38.7%p were HEV)
🇭🇷 Croatia - TTM Market Split
Oct24–Sep25 vs Oct25–Sep26
+2.7pp BEV (1.5% → 4.2%)
+3.9pp PHEV (3.1% → 7.1%)
+6.4pp HEV (32.3% → 38.7%)
−13.0pp ICE (63.1% → 50.1%)
If the changes from the last 6 months continued linearly, BEV would overtake ICE in 2028-10.
PHEV had a massive month in Croatia: 14.2%, a record and more than double last September's 5.8%.
That's mostly one car. The Geely Starray EM-i, on a promo price of €29,990, was Croatia's best-selling car in September with 224 registrations, ahead of the Octavia. About a third of all PHEVs. BEV meanwhile is stuck around 4%.
